NID Admissions 2020: Shortlisting criteria changed for BDes/ GDPD
National Institute of Design has changed the admission criteria for BDes and GDPD course admissions. Go through new weightage allocated to NID DAT Prelims and Mains for admissions 2020.
NID has issued a notification informing that the design institute has changed NID Entrance Exam criteria for BDes and GDPD course admissions. This decision has been taken by NID Admission Cell in wake of COVID-19 outbreak and the resulting lockdown.
Due to the growing uncertainty in these times, National Institute of Design (NID) has shared that it would not be calling students to its campuses to take NID DAT Mains exam. The institute further informs that NID DAT Mains would be conducted as an online interaction. Candidates need to note that they would need to upload their portfolio and statement of purpose prior to NID DAT Mains 2020.

NID Admission Cell has also changed the weightage allocated to NID DAT Prelims and NID DAT Mains in order to create the result/ merit list. As per the earlier shortlisting criteria, the weightage allocated to NID DAT Prelims for BDes/ GDPD admissions was 30% and NID DAT Mains was allocated a weightage of 70%. However, the new weightage allocated to each of these exams for NID admissions 2020 is mentioned in the table below:

NID has not yet shared the schedule for NID DAT Mains 2020. Candidates will be informed about the dates related to admit card download as well as upload of creative work samples and statement of purpose on their registered email IDs.
