NID releases new admission criteria for MDes admissions 2020
NID has changed the criteria for preparing the final result for MDes admissions 2020. Go through the new weightage allocated to NID DAT Prelims and Mains for MDes admissions 2020.
NID has made changes in its MDes admission handbook 2020. Candidates are informed that National Institute of Design (NID) has changed the weightage allocated to NID DAT Prelims and NID DAT Mains while preparing the final result for NID MDes admissions 2020.
In order to ensure safety of students, NID will not be conducting the Studio Test and Personal Interview round at its campuses. NID Admission Cell has taken this decision due to COVID-19 outbreak and the resulting lockdown. Thus, NID DAT Mains will be conducted online post COVID-19 scenario.

Candidates need to note that they would need to upload their portfolio and statement of purpose online prior to NID DAT Mains 2020 for MDes admissions.
NID Admission Cell has also changed the weightage allocated to NID DAT Prelims and NID DAT Mains in order to create the final result/ merit list for MDes admissions. As per the earlier shortlisting criteria, the weightage allocated to NID DAT Prelims for admission in all MDes specialisations was 30% and NID DAT Mains weightage was 70%. However, the new weightage allocated to each of these exams for NID admissions 2020 (for all MDes specialisations) is mentioned in the table below:

NID has not yet shared the schedule for NID DAT Mains 2020. Candidates will be informed about the dates related to admit card download as well as upload of creative work samples and statement of purpose for NID Entrance Exam on their registered email IDs.
