NIFT Entrance Exam 2019 Student Reaction: Difficulty Level of CAT & GAT

The NIFT Entrance Exam 2019 was easy for Arpita Chugh a student of National Public School. She further said, “The theory was fine, the English section was easy and the Maths part wasn’t that hard”. She was able to complete her paper on time and further shared that “The exam pattern and marking scheme in NIFT GAT was exactly as told in the brochure”. If she clears the NIFT admission test then Arpita would like to take up Fashion Design course offered at NIFT Delhi.

Having given NID Entrance Exam as well, a student of Amity International School, Mayur Vihar, Ananya Mishra said, “I also gave NID entrance exam but I think the NIFT exam was easier. NIFT paper was a lot lengthier than NID but I think comparatively the theory was easier”. Talking about the difficulty level of NIFT Entrance Exam 2019, she said, “The GAT part was comparatively easier as I feel that my theory was stronger than my creative skills. But overall, the paper was easy from all the other design entrances I gave”. She also revealed that, “Maximum questions in NIFT GAT were from Maths as there were questions for two pages on it. Maths was the most asked area and even GK had many questions”. So as per Ananya both Maths and GK questions were well balanced in the paper.

“NIFT CAT was really good for me. The GK part in NIFT GAT was a bit confusing and even the Maths part was fine but it could have been better. Rest overall, NIFT Entrance Exam 2019 was fine”, shared Rishi Naik, a graduate from Dubai. NIFT CAT was easy for her to attempt. She also shared that the NIFT exam was not very difficult and she could complete her paper on time.

She also revealed that maximum questions were asked in NIFT GAT from topics such as – Compound Interest, Elementary Maths, LCM, Percentage, Ratio Proportion, Money and the likes. Rishi also gave other popular design entrance exams like CEED and NID DAT. As per her in terms of difficulty level, NID Entrance Exam was the most difficult followed by CEED and NIFT was the easiest of the three.

An MDes aspirants for NIFT, Tanya a Graphic and Web Design graduate from LISAA School of Design revealed that although her NIFT exam was good but CEED was better. Difficulty level wise, NIFT entrance exam “was not very difficult. But I felt that there wasn’t much time for NIFT GAT paper and there was too much time for CAT exam in which there were two theory questions and one sketching question”. Elaborating further she said, “The NIFT exam pattern for GAT was as expected. The pattern and marking scheme was exactly as mentioned by the authorities. Some topics from which questions were asked were Work and Wages in the numerical ability section”.
