Sunaina Saxena, PR & communication head of Jewellery Design & Technology Institute (JDTI), Noida, told ET that in the last few years, jewellery designing has become a much talked about career in the industry. The demand for skilled jewellery professionals is on a high these days.
With the increased number of jewellery designing institutes is Noida; the city has become a big catchment area to attract talent. As per news reports, there is an immense increase in the number of students opting for jewellery designing courses in the city. The demand is high for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Jewellery Design & Technology Institute (JDTI) and IMS-DIA are known to be the finest jewellery designing institutes in Noida. The previous one proffers a range of courses from one month Jewel CAD course to 2 year diploma programme in Jewellery Design and Technology and the cost of such courses ranges from Rs 17,500 to Rs 2,00,000. To get through such jewellery designing courses, one must have passed 10+2.
IMS-DIA offers a degree programme of 3.5 years duration and a 2-year diploma in Jewellery Design where 6 months is the common foundation programme.
Saxena added that now the remuneration has also increased in the industry and interns are also paid at the time of internship and qualified fresher gets an average starting pay package of Rs 25,000 per month. Read more
