The teaching profile has witnessed maximum job postings of about 19% in the fashion sector. Data revealed by TimesJobs.com for the fashion education domain shows an increase of 7% jobs in a month-over-month analysis.

 

This situation clearly implies that demand for experienced educationists in domains like fashion design, fashion illustration, sketching & pattern making, merchandising, fashion retail management, fashion technology and fashion business is on the rise.

 

Talking on this upsurge for fashion educationists, Sharad Mehra, COO, Pearl Academy of Fashion told Economic Times that fashion education has gone beyond the boundaries of fashion designing. Apart from the conventional courses, the recently developed areas have overtaken the market that includes fashion forecasting, fashion merchandising and fashion journalism.

 

The paradigm shift has untied new career opportunities for fashion students and such new options can help you kick start a shining career in the fashion industry. Analysis of jobs reveals that there are many options available for skilled professionals as full-time and part-time faculty, instructors, professors, assistant and associate professors, guest lecturers, and adjunct faculty is also in demand.

 

Nowadays, fashion institutes look for candidates who have a blend of knowledge and creativity and who can bring out productive results through their creative ideas, artistic skills and projects.
