NID Entrance Exam 2016: Experts share exam difficulty level

NID DAT 2016 was expected to have a slight change in pattern and so was the case with the written test conducted for admissions in various design courses on offer at different NID campuses.

The paper was of 3 hours duration wherein aspirants will be evaluated from a total of 100 marks. NID DAT test paper was divided into two parts. Section A consisted of 88 questions and Section B had 3 questions. Thus, NID entrance exam 2016 test paper comprised of 91 questions for PG course admissions.

Majority of the questions in Section B were time-consuming and really tested an aspirant’s creativity and thought process. Section A was more objective in nature and evaluated aspirants around their general awareness and required them to be quick with their analytical abilities.

Most of the aspirants of NID Entrance Exam 2016 were in for a rude shock because the questions asked in test paper for both, UG as well as PG admissions were quite similar.

NID Entrance Exam 2016: Test Pattern Analysis

The exam pattern of NID DAT 2016 was as per the information shared by the exam conducting authority. The exam pattern for NID Entrance Exam 2016 was a little different from previous years. Till, last year, subjective questions wherein aspirants had to provide design solutions to problems posed before them dominated the test paper. However, this year only three subjective questions were asked from aspirants.

The questions asked in Section B, that is, the subjective questions asked in NID entrance exam required aspirants to really think through and thus were very time-consuming. Due to this reason many students were not able to complete their test paper on time because before attempting questions in which candidates had to sketch/draw their solutions, they had to complete a total of 87 objective type questions wherein they had to solve probability and other logical reasoning, analytical reasoning as well as general awareness questions.

Some other questions in Section A of NID Entrance Exam required candidates to make 3D figures wherein they had to show how the end result would look. Apart from this, in few questions aspirants were asked to identify different human body parts.

NID Entrance Exam 2016: Difficulty Level

NID DAT 2016 did not hold any surprises for aspirants. The difficulty level of Section A questions ranged from ‘Easy to Moderate’. Section A of NID Entrance Exam 2016 tested general awareness of candidates. Many objective type questions around 26/11 and various other terrorist attacks of the world were asked. Apart from this, questions related to probability and design solutions were put to students.

On the other hand, the difficulty level of Part B of NID DAT 2016 was above average. The question paper evaluated the creativity skills of candidates and one had to be quick and extremely creative in order to fare well in this section.

Questions asked in Section B of NID entrance exam 2016 are as mentioned below:

Three things were given, that is, a glass, a circle and a little girl and different problems/statements were given in which aspirants had to provide design solutions.  

Make a poster using a burger and a tortoise and give a heading/title for the same in which the message should be around healthy eating habits.

Make a creature using an endangered species (plant/animal), human and automobile. This creature should be drawn in such a way that it is looking for the past or the future.

Overall since the exam was not very difficult so aspirants should expect the cut-offs to go high.
