NIFT Entrance Exam 2015: Student Reactions
The Phase-I Paper Based Test (PBT) of National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) entrance examination was conducted on February 8, 2015. Candidates seeking admissions in Bachelor of Design (BDes) and Bachelor of Fashion Technology (BFTech) programmes at NIFT appeared to give this design entrance test. Shiksha.com met with students at a NIFT test centre in Karkardooma. At this exam centre, around 329 students took the entrance test for BDes admissions whereas approximately 270 aspirants took the test for BFTech course admissions.
Most of the students we spoke to shared that the NIFT Creative Ability Test (CAT) 2015 was easy. On the other hand, majority of the students who took the General Ability Test (GAT) for NIFT admissions shared that the Mathematics section in the test was tough.
Students also revealed that the test pattern was similar to the sample papers for NIFT admissions they had practiced in their coaching centres as well as mock tests.
NIFT CAT 2015: Student Feedback
Aashna Aggarwal who took the NIFT exam for the first time felt that the entrance test was very simple. She further elaborated that the exam paper had “three questions, one of the questions was that I had to draw a poster on three of the topics – Swach Bharat Abhiyaan, Make in India etc., in another question we had to draw a letter and make products out of that letter. On the whole, the exam was easy.”
Abhishek David who gave NIFT entrance exam as a backup if he doesn’t get through any engineering entrance exam said, “The exam was really good. I hope I get selected for the interview and group discussion round”. Further talking about the difficulty level, he said, “Little things like sketching the Swach Bharat Abhiyaan, I got nervous on how to make the creative things”.
Another aspirant, Mansi Chauhan shared that since she took coaching last year she found all the questions in the NIFT CAT 2015 to be quite simple. Khayati Bansal who has been preparing for NIFT entrance exam from Trends Academy since a year shared that, “One of the questions put forth in the test was already done by me so it was a really good experience giving the exam for the first time. Let’s see what happens when the results come”.
NIFT GAT 2015: Student Feedback
Justy Chauhan who has been taking coaching from AFS coaching institute since the past two months shared, “The Maths section was too difficult, I did not know many questions”. She further elaborated by saying, “The GK and English questions were easy”.
Shivani Dilwaliya who prepared for NIFT entrance exam only on the basis of self-study said that the difficulty of the exam increased with every successive question put forth.
Further, it was shared that the paper was simple overall. “The difficulty part was quantitative and the simple part was comprehensive passage and I completed my paper on time”, shared Kruti.
According to Anchit Jain whose complete focus is on performing well in his board exams, “NIFT entrance was good, the difficulty level was medium, Maths was tough, and English was easy, Reasoning was very easy, GK was fine and the drawing part was OK and the overall exam was very good”.
Adding to that, Poorva said, “The exam was good, the CAT was more difficult than GAT”. She further shared that in GAT, “I found the GK part tough, English was easy and Maths was a bit tough”.
A student from a Noida school, Anushmita Sinha shared, “The CAT was a bit difficult, it was very twisted, we had to think a lot in it.” She further said, “The GAT was good, Mathematics was a little tough while rest of the exam went fine”.
