NITRA offers B.Tech in Textile Technology

Inaugurated in August 2012, NITRA Technical Campus (NTC) is offering a four-year B.Tech program in Textile Technology to cater to the manpower requirements of the textile and apparel supply chain. NTC was established by Northern India Textile Research Association (NITRA), a premier institute known for its applied R&D, consultancy and training since 1974.

Besides this, NTC is also offering a four-year B.Tech program in Computer Science & Engineering and two-year PGDM program in Fashion Retail Management (FRM). Approved by AICTE, each of these programs are affiliated to Mahamaya Technical University, UP.

The Textile Technology program is specifically structured to impart technical and managerial skills required to cater to the management of textile mills. The programme deals with various aspects of textiles like yarn and fabric manufacturing, process control, quality control, and machine engineering.

The programme also gives lot of focus on emerging technologies like technical textiles. Besides technology related inputs, the programme will also impart supervisory skills required to manage complete value chain of the textile industry.

Students after pursuing this program have good chances of starting their career in a textile mill in any of the following departments:

  • R&D
  • Production Planning
  • Production
  • Quality Assurance
  • Engineering
