Shiksha.com had spoken to students early in the morning before UCEED 2016 exam began and most of the students were a bit doubtful of what to expect from the exam.
However, the reaction post-exam was mixed because some students were happy with the way they attempted the questions and are expecting to score well in the exam while others were totally disappointed with their performance.
General consensus revealed that the difficulty level of UCEED 2016 was high as compared to NID Entrance Exam 2016 for UG admissions.
UCEED 2016: Difficulty Level
Talking about how her exam went, Sakshi Yadav, a student of DPS Vasant Kunj said, “It was good, I have not really given any mock test and wasn’t too aware of the test pattern but my exam went well. It was an interesting paper. Marking scheme was pretty tricky because it was 4 marks plus and a -1 for first section and every section had a different marking scheme so you had to pay attention at all times”.
A resident of Uttar Pradesh, Tanmay Yadav was quoted as saying, “The paper was good and Section 1 was the most difficult”.
However, some other students shared that the exam was difficult for them and they do not hope to score very high. Iman Sengupta, from Sriram School, Aravali shared, “The exam was complicated. Questions asked were not what I expected. The NAT section was the most difficult, the other two were comparatively easier but the NAT was challenging”.
Along same lines, Manipriya Tyagi said, “UCEED wasn’t too good. The NAT and MCQ sections were easy but lengthy. In total 80 questions were asked in the exam but my paper didn’t go too well”.
Muskaan Agarwal came to give the exam all the way from Bijnor. With a big smile on her face she said, “My exam was nice, I think I did well”. Appearing for an entrance exam for the first time Muskaan got to know about UCEED exam through the internet. As per Muskaan out of the 80 questions asked, “Section C was the most difficult and its marking scheme was such that for a correct answer you got +3 and for a wrong answer it was -1, the NAT section was average and here for one correct answer we were given +4 and for a wrong answer, marking was -1. The easiest was the MSQ section and here marking scheme was +3 and -0.5”.
A student of DPS Gurgaon, Archna Verma shared that her exam was average. “The logical reasoning questions were good but UCEED exam standard was high”. Talking about the section-wise difficulty level of UCEED 2016, Archna said, “The MSQ section was the most difficult and 20 questions were asked here. As per me, the MCQ questions were above average and the NAT section was easy. There were 40 MCQs and 20 NAT questions in the paper.
UCEED 2016 Test Pattern Feedback
The test pattern for UCEED 2016 was a little different from last year. Manipriya said, “This year there was negative marking in the sections, last year there was no such thing. This really affected us, especially in the MSQ section where there was no negative marking, last year”.
“The questions asked in the NAT section were easier than the last year UCEED paper and also from the sample paper I had practiced”, shared Archna.
Prerna Madan a student of Sprindales School shared that, “Last year UCEED had more questions, this year 80 questions were asked but the paper was more tricky this year as compared to last year”.
UCEED 2016: Computer Based Test Experience
At the test centre from which Shiksha.com was reporting live, some students shared that they face a bit difficulty giving UCEED computer based exam.
“We were giving an exam for the first time on computer and it was a different experience. All students in my UCEED 2016 exam hall faced some difficulty as initially all the systems in my exam hall got shut down and remained like that for atleast 5 minutes. But the invigilator did not give us any extra time for this”, revealed Manipriya.
Another student Muskaan also faced a similar situation wherein her system got shut down mid-way in the exam. However, she shared that the UCEED 2016 test centre authorities were quite prompt in their action and immediately the fault was rectified.
Students from some test centres in Mumbai shared that images for two MCQ questions were missing in their test papers. Students did not remember the entire questions but shared the starting statements of the questions:
