UCEED 2017 Counselling Process

After UCEED 2017 results are announced, candidates are issued their scorecard which they can download from the official website of the exam. UCEED scorecard comprises of the aspirant’s name, roll number, score as well as UCEED rank.

Candidates who make it to the UCEED 2017 merit list then need to fill a common BDes programme application form. Candidates are informed that Joint Seat Allocation is conducted for BDes course admissions basis UCEED 2017 ranks.

The official website informs: “The UCEED Office, IIT Bombay will process the common application form and carry out the joint seat allocation process”.

After the application process is complete three seat allotments rounds are conducted in order to offer admission to aspirants in BDes programmes. UCEED 2017 seat allotment round will end as soon as seats are filled in colleges accepting UCEED ranks for admission in BDes course.

UCEED 2017 Eligibility Criteria for Seat Allocation

The eligibility criteria to apply for joint seat allocation is as mentioned below:

Criterion 1: Age Limit

Aspirants who were born on or after October 1, 1997 for Open or OBC-NCL category and on/after October 1, 1992 for SC, ST or PwD category meet UCEED 2017 eligibility criteria.

Criterion 2: UCEED Qualification

Candidates who possess a valid UCEED 2017 rank are eligible to apply for UCEED counselling process.

Criterion 3: Qualifying Examination

Aspirants who have cleared their qualifying examination, that is, Class XII or equivalent in 2016 or 2017 meet UCEED eligibility criteria. However, those candidates who appeared for their qualifying exam for the first time in 2015 or earlier do not meet UCEED 2017 eligibility criteria.

The official website informs: “The candidates appearing for their qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) in 2017 should ensure that, all parts of their final examination are completed by the date of registration in respective admitting institute, and proof of having passed the qualifying examination with required eligibility is submitted by September 30, 2017 to the admitting institute”.

Criterion 4: Stream in Qualifying Exam

Aspirants who are from the Science Stream (with Physics, Chemistry and Maths as subjects) meet the admission criteria as specified by all the colleges accepting UCEED ranks for admission. However, candidates who are from any other stream, that is “Science without Maths or Physics or Chemistry, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities, are eligible to apply to only IIT Bombay and IIITDM Jabalpur”, as specified by UCEED 2017 official website.

UCEED 2017 Joint Seat Allotment Process

In UCEED counselling process, aspirants will be allotted seats based on their UCEED 2017 rank, category and college selected by them. Aspirants who are offered admission basis these criteria will be sent a provisional allotment letter on their registered email address.

Once they receive the allotment letter they will be directed to UCEED online payment system where they will have to pay Seat Acceptance Fee of Rs 60,000.
