New interior design program by SoFA
School of Fashion and the Arts (SoFA) is set to launch its very first Bachelor of Science in Interior Design (ID) program and it has been accredited by CHEd (Commission on Higher Education). SoFA ID will be a four-year degree program commencing from July 23, 2012. Students aspiring for a career in interior design will benefit from the course designed to equip them with design and technical skills.
The program will focus on the tools used in interior design, interior design technology and marketing and it is also planning to cover the local and oversees market. The program will be conducted by highly qualified and experienced trainers from the industry.
Design will be the main focus of the program with an endeavour to train every individual to help them become successful interior designers. So much so that group work is not acceptable so that individuals develop their own skill sets. The main aim of this program is to develop leaders, not followers and to enhance the strength of each individual and give a boost to their individuality and creativity. In the four year program period, the students will be groomed as upcoming designers so that they work in the forefront rather than making them secondary personnel. The program methodology will encourage students to become strong designers and teach them how to develop an appreciation and understanding of other designs. Classmates will critique one another’s work to develop a broader perspective on design. Read more
