Are you an engineering aspirant seeking admission in one of the top-notch colleges in India? Check out the list of top five engineering exams that you can take along with JEE Main.

Currently, there are more than 2000 engineering colleges in India. While some accept national-level JEE Main scores, others conduct their entrance exams or accept state-level exam scores. Besides JEE Main 2024 being one of the most popular engineering exams in India, there are several other entrance exams conducted for admission into the premier engineering institutes of the country.

Engineering entrance exams in India are held every year at undergraduate and postgraduate levels for BTech & MTech programmes offered across the country. While JEE Main and JEE Advanced are conducted for admission into the IITs, NIT, IIITs and GFTIs, exams like WBJEE, AP EAMCET, KEAM, KCET & COMEDK UGET are majorly conducted for undergraduate admission offered at engineering colleges in the respective state. Furthermore, exams like VITEEE, SRMJEEE, and BITSAT are conducted in-house by the respective institutes.

Syllabus as well as the syllabus of classes 11 and 12. After the board exams, students get 2-3 months' time where they can focus entirely on JEE Main. Students who have started late for the JEE Main exam can make a 6-month plan where in the first three months they have to focus on revising the syllabus studied in classes 11 and 12. In the next two months focus on solving questions of JEE Main and analyzing the mistakes being made, if any. The last month should be focused on solving mock tests and JEE Main previous year question papers.

Students who have started preparing from class 11 or 12 can easily prepare for MHT CET in 6 months considering the topics of CET syllabus have already been studied in class 11 and 12.

Q:   How to crack JEE Mains in first attempt?

A:

Hi aspirant!

Clearing the JEE Main exam in first attempt is not a difficult task. If we see the year over year statistics, the ratio of students who clear JEE Main in first attempt is high in comparison to students who dropped a year after class 12. One thing that makes it easy to clear JEE Main with class 12 is that students are in regular touch of most JEE syllabus. To score good marks in JEE Main in the first attempt, it is advised that you study class 11 and 12 topics thoroughly, clear all the concepts and solve mock test papers. Also, NCERT books which you study in class 11 and 12 are the best books for JEE Main preparation. Students must study NCERT properly and solve all the questions in the book and do not memorize the concepts as some students do rather understand the concepts.

Hope this cleared your doubt. Best wishes!

Q:   How much time is required to prepare for JEE Mains?

A:

The time required to prepare for JEE Mains depends on several factors, such as your current knowledge level, the amount of time you can dedicate to studying, and your desired level of excellence. However, here are some general guidelines:

  1. Ideally, you should start preparing for JEE Mains at least 6-8 months before the exam date. This will give you ample time to cover the entire syllabus, practice mock tests, and analyse your performance.
  2. If you have already started preparing, it's essential to make a time table and stick to it. Allocate at least 6-8 hours daily for studying, and ensure that you take regular breaks to avoid burnout.
  3. It's important to note that the amount of time required to prepare for JEE Mains can vary depending on your current knowledge level. If you have a strong foundation in the subjects, you may require less time, whereas if you need to build your fundamentals, you may need more time.
  4. Additionally, it's important to remember that studying smartly is more crucial than studying for a long time. Focus on understanding the concepts, practicing challenging problems, and analyzing your performance regularly.

In conclusion, the amount of time required to prepare for JEE Mains can vary depending on several factors. However, ideally, you should start preparing at least 6-8 months before the exam date, and make a study plan that suits your needs and schedule. Remember to study smartly, practice regularly, and analyze your performance to achieve your desired score.

Q:   How can I crack SRMJEEE in 3 months?

A:
SRMJEEE is actually not a very tough exam when compared to JEE Mains, BITSAT, etc., but that doesn't mean things can be taken for granted either, particularly taking into consideration the heavy competition that there is for such exams. So, read further to gain an insight on the little you could do to crack this little nut of an exam with a really good rank. First of all, take a look at the syllabus that is given to you in the SRM prospectus. Most of it would be the same as your class 11th and 12th PCM syllabus. If you are a CBSE student, you will find that they are exactly the same topics as in the NCERTs. Next, try to gain a good conceptual understanding of the same and then work out certain numerical problems in each of the topics in Physics and Chemistry (if any) and selected problems in Maths. Just so as to revise the concepts (try to concentrate on the areas you had trouble gaining clarity during the boards and work to clear them). Try solving the sample papers provided in the prospectus or the website, if time permits. If you are already undergoing some sort of coaching for the JEE Mains, I believe this should not be hard for you and you would perhaps be accustomed to tougher papers. After you have done all this (if you have done half of all that I have mentioned above, this exam is still going to be a calk walk), just keep calm and take your exam. Mind you, there is negative marking in SRMJEEE, unlike the VIT entrance test.

Q:   What is the closing rank for NIT in JEE Main?

A:
Closing rank for NITs varies from institute to institute. In general, students must have a JEE Main rank within the top 30,000 to have a seat in any of the NITs across the country. It is not possible to provide the exact closing ranks for all NITs as it is subject to change. However, generally, the closing ranks for admission to NITs through JEE Main are in the range of a few thousand to several tens of thousands, depending on the institute and the specific branch.
