AIEEE 2012

Date for AIEEE 2012 declared!

AIEEE 2012 is scheduled for 29th April, 2012. It is the 11th All India Engineering Entrance Exam and the notification has been released by CBSE. It is an entrance exam for admission into NITs, IIITs, Deemed Universities and Few State Funded Institutes for admissions into Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) or Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) courses.

The AIEEE 2012 Offline Examination i.e. Paper/Pen Test will be held on 29th April, 2012.

The AIEEE 2012 Online Examination only (i.e., CBT Mode) will be conducted from 7th to 25th of May, 2012.

Every year somewhere around 12, 00,000 students appear for the exam. For AIEEE 2010, 11, 18,148 students appeared and in 2011 the number went to 11, 14,880. The total number of seats across all participating institutes will be approximately 28000 for engineering and 1000 seats for architecture.

From next year onwards, CBSE has decided to make the AIEEE online, just like the Common Admission Test (CAT). It has been decided to make it online because last year the board faced a number of problems following reports that question papers had leaked. HRD has decided to make it more transparent also to provide an opportunity for the testees to know his / her mistakes.
