AIEEE extended the deadline for selection of exam date
By Ruchi Shrimali
CBSE had originally set the deadline for January 31, 2012 for candidates who have registered for the online version of All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE) 2012 to choose their date of exam. But now it has been extended by a week to February 7, 2012.
The AIEEE online exam is to be held during the window period of May 7 to May 26, 2012 in two shifts - from 9am to 12 noon and again from 2pm to 5pm. The candidates have been given the flexibility to choose their own exam date and time slot during this window period, according to their convenience and availability of slots. Candidates who will not indicate their own choice will be randomly allotted a date and time slot by the board.
Earlier, CBSE had said that it will not entertain any requests for changes in the date of examination.
Less than 1% applicants had appeared for the online test last year. Hence, to encourage the students to take online exam this year, CBSE has uploaded mock test software on its website for practice purposes. It is also offering a discount of Rs 350 to students who will appear for the online AIEEE exam. Another change introduced by CBSE was to allow only online submission of forms for AIEEE, with payments being done through credit card, debit card, or demand draft.
