The Panjab University has today issued the guidelines for the faculties, who will be conducting classes online. This is been done to avoid any study loss during this time when all colleges and universities around the country have been shut.

The Panjab University (PU) has issued guidelines to the faculty for conducting online classes, to compensate for the study loss of students amid the coronavirus outbreak. The PU'S Dean has issued these guidelines to the faculty to be followed while teaching online.

As per the guidelines, teachers have been asked to upload e-lectures including texts, slides, presentations through Google Classroom. They have been instructed to clear any doubts or queries raised by the students as well.

The faculty can also share their lectures through an e-mail and also, can reply to any students' queries through e-mail, WhatsApp or Skype, the release said.

The PU authorities have also asked teachers to take the help of Youtube in order to post lectures or presentations. The teachers have also been asked to use the video conferencing tool to help students understand any topic or lesson.

As per the release, teachers can hold interactive class sessions for a group of students through Skype or Zoom. This method will help in keeping students engaged and active in their studies during this time when they are not allowed to step out of their homes too.

Each student can prepare a topic and share it with the rest of the class through email. These topics will be assigned to the students by the teachers. To answer any queries raised by the student, teachers can use applications like Skype, e-mail, WhatsApp, Video conferencing, and others, the release stated.

For engineering courses, the authorities have asked teachers to use the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NAPTEL) platform.
