CSAB 2020: Centralised Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) declared the first allotment result for the special round-1 of counselling on November 20 and result for round-2 will be announced on November 25 for engineering admissions. The result for CSAB 2020 special round counselling is available on the official website.

The last date for online registrations for CSAB 2020 special rounds was November 19 (11:59 pm). Interested candidates had to complete the online registrations and make the payment of application fee in order to participate in CSAB special round counselling.
CSAB released the official notification of complete schedule of special round counselling for admission to all National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) across India through JEE Main score. CSAB special rounds are conducted for seats that remain vacant after seven rounds of JoSAA counselling.
CSAB counselling this year will be conducted by Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad for admission to the undergraduate engineering and architecture courses offered at NITs, IIITs and CFTIs. Candidates who cleared JEE Main can participate in CSAB counselling for admissions.
CSAB 2020 Admission Process
CSAB conducts the centralised counselling for vacant seats in different institutes under four categories as mentioned below:
CSAB Special Round: This special round of counselling is conducted for vacant seats left in all NITs, IIITs and CFTIs after the final round of JoSAA Counselling
CSAB SFTI: This counselling is conducted for 12 Self Financed Technical Institutes (SFTIs)
CSAB NEUT: It is conducted for supernumerary seats in NITs for Union Territories, and in some AICTE approved institutes for North East and Union Territories (NEUT)
CSAB Supernumerary: This is the supernumerary round of counselling conducted for Union Territories (UTs) of Andaman & Nicobar, Dadar & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Lakshadweep & Kandvi
CSAB Special Round Counselling: CSAB will be conducting two additional rounds of online counselling after the seven rounds of JoSAA counselling process concludes. Candidates will be allotted seat basis their JEE Main 2020 rank.
CSAB 2020 Counselling: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates aspiring to participate in CSAB special round must check the eligibility criteria as prescribed below:
- Candidates must have appeared for JEE Main 2020 and possess a valid score
- Candidates who participated in JoSAA 2020 but were not allotted any seat
- Candidates who have been allotted a seat in JoSAA 2020 but were not satisfied with the allotment

CSAB NEUT Counselling 2020
CSAB counselling for NEUT (North Eastern States and Union Territories) will be conducted in two rounds. The process is for 12 Northeastern states and Union Territories including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, Dadar & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Andaman & Nicobar and Lakshadweep.
Online registrations for CSAB NEUT will be held till November 4, 2020. Candidates have to submit the online application form and upload the required documents for verification. Registered candidates will be allotted seats in the engineering colleges in the north-eastern states and union territories of the country basis their JEE Main scores.
CSAB NEUT Counselling: Eligibility Criteria
Take a look at the eligibility criteria for candidates participating in CSAB NEUT counselling:
- Candidates must have qualified JEE Main 2020 with valid scores
- Candidates need to belong to the above-mentioned States and Union Territories
- Candidates should have obtained minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) in Physics, Chemistry, (Mathematics, a language (if the candidate has opted for more than one language, then language with higher marks will be considered), and any subject other apart from above four or should be in top 20 percentile in their Class XII exams

CSAB SFTI Counselling 2020
CSAB counselling for SFTI offers admission to candidates to all the self-financed engineering & technology colleges that participate in the exam. Candidates are allotted seats in such colleges basis their JEE Main scores.

Take a look at the prescribed eligibility criteria for CSAB counselling conducted for self-financed technical institutes:
BTech admissions:
- Candidates must have qualified JEE Main 2020 paper 1
- They should have passed their class XII qualifying exam with minimum 45% aggregate marks (General category) or 40 per cent marks (SC/ ST/ OBC-NCL/ PwD category) in Physics, Mathematics, any one of these subjects (Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology or Technical Vocational subject), anyone language and anyone other subject
BArch/ BPlan admissions:
- Candidates must have qualified JEE Main 2020 paper 2
- They should have studied Mathematics in their class XII
- Must have scored minimum 50 per cent aggregate marks in five subjects including Mathematics

CSAB UT Supernumerary Counselling 2020
CSAB counselling for supernumerary seats in the Union Territories are conducted for female candidates of that region through JEE Main scores.
CSAB UT Supernumerary Counselling: Eligibility Criteria
Take a look at the eligibility criteria for CSAB supernumerary UT counselling:
- Candidate should not have been allocated any seat till CSAB special round counselling
- Candidate should not have reported against any seat allotment in earlier JoSAA rounds
- Candidates had reported for seat allotted at the reporting centre but the seat was cancelled due to change in the category and remains unallotted
- Candidates had reported against the allotted seat to reporting centre but withdrew the same till the sixth round of JoSAA
- Those who have paid the initial fee (Rs 35,000 for candidates from GEN, OBC-NCL categories and Rs 15,000 for candidates belonging to categories SC, ST, GEN- PwD, OBC NCL PwD, SC-PwD or ST-PwD) and reported against seat allotment of JoSAA 2020 but did not report to the allotted Institute till the last specified date
