5 Haunted college campuses of India
Well, people around me have shared that most of the places where they have encountered paranormal activity have been built over graveyards. I still do not know whether the stories shared with me are true or not but they sure make an interesting read.
In this article, we have listed some Indian college campuses which are known to have some eerie presence. However, most of the spirits at these campuses are known to be involved in their own business and often do not bother students with their antics.

University of Pune
A colonial style campus with numerous trees, Pune University’s campus is known to have a grave of Alice Richman bearing the inscription that - born in South Australia on November 13, 1856, Alice died due to cholera in 1886.
However, many believe that this is not the reason for her demise and she either committed suicide or was killed while riding a horse.
Many people who have been to Pune University's campus reveal that they have seen a woman walking in the campus wearing a white gown.
Ramnarain Ruia College
The campus of Mumbai’s Ramnarain Ruia College is another educational institute which is known to have regular visits form the supernatural. So much so that students feel that hearing about the ghost in (classroom) S26 is a tradition of sorts at Ruia and you are not a true Ruiaite if you have not heard about this spirit at least a 100 times.
Other places which are known to have some kind of paranormal activity at this college are the ladies common room as well as the mini-auditorium which has a really creepy statue.
Women’s College Calcutta
A part of the Calcutta University, Calcutta Women’s College is known to be the home of Warren Hastings who was the first governor general of British India. Sources reveal that his residence lies within the premises of this college.
Students share that his presence is mostly sensed around New Year’s Eve when it is felt that a carriage with four horses comes near his house. The spirit of Hastings is said to rush up the staircase of his house looking for some documents. Sources reveal this is perhaps the same thing that happened back in time when bribery charges were leveled against Hastings.
SNDT Girls College
Unlike other colleges/campuses which are known to house one or two spirits, this Mumbai college is known to have the presence of a group of people. Residents living near this college reveal that sounds can be heard from an area where earlier staff quarters of this college lay.
Many people share that around 2 am they can hear a female voice reciting multiplication tables which is followed by sounds of slapping and wailing of children.
Some daredevils have also tried to go to the exact spot from where these noises are heard but on reaching the spot they did not hear or see anything. But as soon as they returned they heard the sound of numerous children crying and thereafter never gained up the courage to visit this college that late at night.
St Bede’s College
Many girls at this Shimla college have shared that they often hear mysterious sounds from the dining room close to midnight.
While many students feel that there is some spirit at the campus, professors and nuns of the college share that situated on the hills there is often sound of wind or the rustling of leaves which may sound creepy at night.
Well, ghost or no ghost we would like to stay as far away from the supernatural as we can. What say?
