Factors determining IIIT Cut off for JEE Main

IIIT cut-offs are determined based on the following factors taken into account for admission to BTech courses.

  • Number of aspirants appearing for the exam
  • Performance of candidates in JEE Mains exam
  • The difficulty level of the exam
  • Previous year JEE Main cut-off trends
  • Total number of seats available

IIIT Cut off for BTech courses

JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) has declared six rounds of IIIT cutoffs for admission through JEE Main. JoSAA cutoffs are the category and course-wise opening and closing ranks for all the participating institutes. Candidates who will have scores above the JoSAA 2023 cut-off will only be allowed to participate in the counselling process held for admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs and CFTIs.

JoSAA counselling and seat allotment process will be held based on ranks obtained by candidates in JEE Main and JEE Advanced. To be eligible for JoSAA counselling, candidates need to clear JEE Main for admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs and both Mains and JEE Advanced for admission to IITs.

Q:   Can I get NIT with 95 percentile in JEE Main?

A:

It is possible for you to secure a seat in an NIT (National Institute of Technology), although it may not guarantee your preferred branch or institute. If your percentile is above 96, your chances of getting into a respectable NIT increases, but you may need to compromise on your branch selection. However, if you aim for a decent NIT with a preferred branch in the core field, you would need to score above 97.5%. On the other hand, if your goal is to get admission to a top college with the CSE (Computer Science and Engineering) branch, your score would need to be higher than 99.4%.

Q:   What is the cutoff for BTech in Computer Science and Engineering at NIT Hamirpur for other than General categories?

A:

The last year 2022 cutoff ranks for BTech in Computer Science and Engineering at NIT Hamirpur - National Institute of Technology other than General category are - 17445 for OBC, 1663 for SC, 578 for ST, 16770 for EWS, 187395 for PWD. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in JEE exam, the last cut offs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State. It also varies if the applicant is a female.

Q:   What is the cutoff for BTech at NIT Andhra Pradesh for OBC category?

A:

NIT Andhra Pradesh BTech cutoff 2024 for BTech courses ranged between 25704 and 91199 for OBC category. Wherein, the most competitive course was BTech in Computer Science and Engineering and the least competitive course was BTech in Biotechnology. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in JEE Main, the last cutoffs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State. It also varies if the applicant is a female.

Q:   How to calculate percentile in JEE?

A:

NTA uses a formula to calculate NTA score in JEE Main. The formula used is

JEE-Main-NTA-Score-Formula

Q:   What are the types of JEE Main cutoff?

A:
JEE Main cutoff is of two types, one is qualifying cutoff for JEE Advanced and the other is admission cutoff for the institutes. JEE Main qualifying cutoff is released by the NTA along with the result and is in the form of percentile scores. NTA releases JEE Main cutoff for a total of six categories which include unreserved (CRL), Gen-EWS, Open-PwD, OBC-NCL, SC and ST.
