Plea filed in SC demanding re-examination of JEE Main and NEET 2020 exams for students who missed the entrance tests.

A plea has been filed in the Supreme Court of India seeking another attempt to conduct JEE Main 2020 and NEET 2020 exam for all those students who could not appear in their September exam.

A lawyer named, Shashwant Anand also a petitioner has asked the Supreme Court to conduct re-examination for JEE Main and NEET for all those students who have missed the examination due to the pandemic restrictions or other unavoidable/unforeseeable circumstances.

He also asked the SC to take suo moto cognizance of the report of students who were not able to take the entrance examinations because they were late for the test. The petition filed, further asked SC to allow NTA (National Testing Agency) conduct the examination and providing necessary facilities including accommodations, food and water, transportation etc. and giving the same to appear on new dates.

The JEE Main 2020 September exam was held from September 1 to 6 in two shifts in around 660 centres and 8 cities abroad. A total of 6.35 lakh candidates appeared for JEE Main 2020 September session. After four days of the entrance test, JEE Main 2020 result was declared on its official website. Education Minister, Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal, announced the same with the statistics of students appeared. 24 students have secured 100 percentile scores including both January and September scores. The JEE Main 2020 Paper 2 and 3 result is yet to be announced by the NTA.

On the other hand, NEET was conducted on September 13 across 155 test cities in India. The result of NEET 2020 exam is expected soon on its official website.
