JEE Main April 2020 exam postponed till last week of May: HRD Minister
HRD Minister of India, Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal, has directed the National Testing Agency (NTA) to postpone JEE Main 2020 April exam till the last week of May. This step has been taken due to the Coronavirus outbreak in the country and keeping in mind the safety of the students. HRD Minister further advised all the students to utilise their time to study and prepare for their examinations and be safe at their homes.

Earlier, NTA had notified through a press release on March 18, that JEE Main 2020 April examination has been postponed which was scheduled to be held on April 5, 7, 8, 9 and 11 in online mode. Accordingly, the admit card of JEE Main 2020 for April session which was to be issued on March 20, 2020, will be issued after March 31.
The new JEE Main 2020 exam dates are yet to be announced by the NTA. JEE Main 2020 April exam will be held for three papers: Paper-1 for BTech courses, Paper-2 will be for BArch, and Paper-3 will be for BPlan. The first shift will be held from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm while the second shift will be conducted from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
Through JEE Main, candidates will be offered admission to BE/BTech, BPlan and BArch courses at the IIITs (Indian Institute of Information Technology), NITs (National Institute of Technology) and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) across the country. Only the top 2.5 lakh score holders in JEE Main 2020 will be eligible to apply for JEE Advanced for admission to IITs in India.
