Founded in 1958, TMK is the first private sector engineering college funded by the Government in Kerala. The college offers admission on the basis of the KEAM scorecards for the BTech programme.
Students can opt-in any of the eight branches of the B.Tech programme, two of the MTech programme as well as Master in Computer Application (MCA) courses being undertaken in the campus. Courses offered by the college include Architecture, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical, Civil, Electronics and Communication, Chemical, Computer Science and Engineering and Production Engineering for its BTech students.
2. MEC (Model Engineering College), Ernakulam
MEC (Model Engineering College) Ernakulam was the first self-financing college to be established by the Government of Kerala. Affiliated to the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU), the college has been ranked 37 in the list of 100 engineering colleges in India by Outlook and 21 in the Top 25 Govt. Engineering colleges in India by DataQuest.
MEC offers four undergraduate courses in Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics & Biomedical Engineering. For admissions to these programmes, the college accepts KEAM scores.
3. Government Engineering College (GEC), Kozhikode
Located in the WestHill, Government Engineering College (GEC) is one of the well-known engineering institutions. The college consists of five engineering departments offering undergraduate and post graduate degree to its students. Students have an option to choose one from various disciplines offered by the college, that are, Applied Electronics and Instrumentation, Chemical, Civil, Electronics and Communication and Mechanical Engineering.
4. Government Engineering College (GEC), Thrissur
The campus of Government Engineering College, Thrissur is spread over 120 acres of land located in Thrissur city of Kerala. The colleges started their practice in 1957 and now is the second oldest engineering college, ranked amongst the top 50 government colleges in the country.
The college is known for its graduation, post-graduation and doctoral degree programmes. Students can opt for one from various streams like architecture, Production, Chemical, Electrical and Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil and Computer Science & Engineering offered by the college.
5. Government Engineering College(GEC), Barton Hill, Thiruvananthapuram
Established by the Government of Kerala, GEC, Thiruvananthapuram is well-known for its five regular BTech and four MTech programmes conducted in the campus. Students can opt for streams like Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Civil, Mechanical and Information Technology offered by the college. The intake capacity of the college is 60 students for each course offered by the college.
Students enjoy facilities including Electronics Workshop, Digital Electronics Lab, Microprocessor Lab, Electronic Circuits Lab and advanced communication lab.
6. Mar Athanasius College of Engineering(MACE), Kothamangalam
Established in 1961, the college is set atop a hillock which gives a lovely look of the Kothamangalam town, Kerala. The college conducts B.tech courses, M.Tech as well as Master of Computer Application (MCA). Students can choose from disciplines such as Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Mechanical, Electrical and Civil Engineering offered by the college.
7. NSS College of Engineering, Palakkad
Founded in 1960, NSS College of Engineering, Palakkad is government aided and affiliated to the University of Calicut. In a campus area of 125 acres, the college is well designed with separate blocks meant for each department and library & hostel facilities.
The college caters for programmes such as Civil, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical, Instrumentation & Control, and Computer Science Engineering. A total of 90 seats are at offer for each programme by the college.
8. College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram
Established in the year 1939, the College of Engineering, Trivandrum (also known as CET) is the first Engineering College in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The college offers BTech programmes in Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. At the undergraduate level, the college also offers architecture programmes. For admissions to its UG engineering programmes, KEAM is mandatory.

A. Yes, the authority will release the cutoff after each round of KEAM 2021 counselling in online mode. The cutoff is different for each of the colleges/institutes, course and category of students.
Q. Is CEE office conducting Medical Entrance Examination?
A. There is no state-level entrance examination for medical and architecture courses conducted by this office. The entrance examination is conducted only for Engineering and BPharm courses. Admission to medical courses will be conducted based on the NEET (UG) Rank. Those candidates who wish to be considered for the seat allotment in medical courses in Kerala State should qualify NEET. Likewise, if a candidate wants to be considered for the allotment in Architecture course, qualifying NATA (National Aptitude Test) is required. However, candidates interested in Engineering, Pharmacy, Medical and Architecture courses have to apply for KEAM.
Q. I want to study an Ayurveda course in Kerala. Do I need to appear for NEET examination?
A. In Kerala, admission to all medical courses including Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Agricultural, Fisheries, Unani, Veterinary, Sidha etc. will be based on the NEET ranks. So those candidates who wish to be considered for the allotment in medical courses should be qualified in NEET and are required to apply for KEAM.
Q. What are the certificates required to prove the eligibility?
A. Candidates can submit any one of the following documents/certificates for satisfying their nativity requirements:
- Certificate to prove nativity for Keralites
- A true copy of the relevant page of SSLC of the candidate showing their place of birth in Kerala (self-attested copy of this certificate has to be attached separately)

A. The counselling of KEAM 2021 will be held in three rounds.
