I am much more confident and self-dependent than I was before, says Aayush Kumar
I liked Science since I was a kid, I've always found it interesting. It makes me curious and this curiosity made me more interested in science and technology. I had planned it pretty long ago that I wanted to be an engineer when I grow up. Hence I took admission in the science field. I had taken Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as my main subjects. I had Computer Science as a subject since grade 6. I found it fascinating from writing "hello" in MS Word to making my own websites. This made me inclined towards Computer Science Engineering. Hence, during the preparations for entrance exams, Computer Science Engineering was my motivation.
I joined a coaching centre in my city for JEE Main and JEE Advanced. I prepared for only JEE Mains. To get admission in my college, one must get a decent rank in MET (Manipal entrance test), it is organized by MAHE. It's an online exam with MCQ. According to me, if one is preparing for JEE Mains, he/she need not prepare for MET individually as it covers similar topics with similar difficulty (if not easier) as JEE. I had also given BITSAT but unfortunately, I couldn’t get my desired branch in BITS. But I don’t regret it now.

In college, I attend my classes from 9 AM to 5 PM with breaks in between. After classes I usually hang out with my friends, we play badminton, chess and sometimes even multiplayer mobile games in a group. We can stay outside the hostels until 9 PM and we can stay outside our blocks but within the hostel till 11 PM. We have a common mess, for both girls and boys. After dinner, we walk around until it's time for us to go inside our blocks. We have various fests in our college, I usually participate as an organizing committee member as it helps me in getting rid of my shyness and makes me learn to work in a team. After almost 1.5 years in my college, I'm much more confident and self-dependent than I was before. If given a chance, I'd want to increase the night curfew time, so that I can walk with my friends for a little longer.
