GNITS offers a wide variety of clubs and organizations to engage you in. I am a part of the class review committee which addresses the problems of our classmates to the faculty and higher authorities.
After I completed my 10th with 9.4 GPA, I had to choose my stream for class XI-XII. After eliminating all other options off my list, I was left to choose between MPC and BPC. I was always interested in doing medicine. However, I figured out that I had a stronger interest to learn coding. This enthusiasm had pushed me into taking up MPC. Later, I topped my college with an aggregate of 97.7%. Since I wanted to go into coding related stream, I had only two options in mind - Computer Science or Information Technology. So I started looking out for colleges that had good placement opportunities for students of CSE and IT. Initially, I had got admission into Mahindra Ecole Centrale through my SAT score. Unfortunately, I didn’t get into the stream I wished for and so I dropped that option. Then, I started researching about some top colleges nearby in which I had good chances of getting into the stream I desired. I shortlisted a couple of Institutes based on factors like placement opportunities, the reputation of the college, facilities and infrastructure provided by the institute and also the campus environment. I figured that G. Narayanamma Institute of Technology and Science was a decent college that met with all my expectations and as a bonus, it was very close to my home which helped me avoid spending too much time on travelling.

I got into GNITS with my percentage in intermediate under NRI quota. I didn’t write any competitive exams to get into this college in particular. However, I did write the SAT while I was in XII so that I can apply for other colleges. I have taken coaching for SAT at The Princeton Review. Although SAT helped me get admission into Mahindra Ecole Centrale, my score wasn’t enough to get into the course I wished for i.e. Computer Science. Some other colleges that I have applied for include CBIT and Vasavi Institute of Technology. I got admission in both the colleges in CSE branch. I had to choose from GNITS, CBIT and Vasavi. I felt G. Narayanamma Institute of Technology and Science was more suitable as per my requirements.
Normally the classes get over by 2:30 pm or 3:00 pm depending on the time table. However, I like to stay in the campus till 5:00 pm because personally I enjoy my time here. The environment is very homely and pleasant. When it comes to classes, I am someone who loves practical classes and labs rather than the boring theory classes. It’s always a great idea to be a part of the clubs and committees in college. GNITS offers a wide variety of clubs and organizations to engage you in. I am a part of the class review committee which addresses the problems of our classmates to the faculty and higher authorities. In other words, we are the face of the class. I also participate in various sports activities like badminton and athletics. Another activity that I’m engaged in is anchoring. I have done anchoring in college for the traditional day and a few other events. If given a chance, I’d want to be a part of the placements committee because that would give me a really good exposure with alumni and industrial people. Although GNITS has not really changed me as a person, it did help me out in discovering my interests and activities. The college has given me lots of opportunities and encouragement to improve myself consistently, try out new things and experiment with myself. I have met some amazing people here in GNITS. The professors are like a support system, friends feel like family and the campus environment feels like home. Overall, joining this college was one of the best decisions I’ve taken so far.
