I have really studied hard & never wasted my time. I was always motivated and calm, says Rahul Nandi
I always believe that engineers are magicians. They are the last remaining practitioners of this art in an increasingly modernised world. So everyone dreams to be an engineer but few of them achieve their dream. When I was in school I always stood first in everything whether it was studying, playing, singing or dancing. One day my school organized an exhibition on the occasion of Engineering Day. The interesting part was that I was too young to participate in it and it was majorly for my seniors in school. My main concern at that time was to participate in that exhibition. My dad and I were working on a project named “Waste Management Treatment”. I asked my principal if I could participate in the exhibition. At first, the principal denied but then allowed me to present my prototype in the exhibition. I got the 2nd prize at the exhibition. After that, I took part in the school exhibition for more than 3 years. I was featured in the daily newspaper twice for developing new technology and security systems. At that time I learnt that we need new technology to embrace ourselves in future. I completed high school with Science as a subject. I started preparing for my engineering entrance in school only. My first attempt was unsuccessful but in the second attempt, I got my dream college.
Time is said to be precious because it is irreversible. At the very beginning of my high school, I started doing practice from H.C.Verma books along with R.S. Aggarwal for Maths. It really helped me during my studies and clearing my engineering entrance. I never took any coaching to prepare for the entrance exam as I chose to do self-study. After my 12th, I appeared for JEE Main, WBJEE and secured a rank of AIR 1,25000. I appeared for counselling and finally got admission. I got selected for C.V. Raman College of Engineering through JEE Main. It is among the top 100 Universities in India. In the last 4 years, I have really studied hard and never wasted my time. I was always motivated and calm during my preparations.
In the first year, we had many assignments, tests and laboratory practicals but I used to do quick revision from time to time. Soon, I got an opportunity to work for Campus Connect from Shiksha Company to compete with others & lead the campus to be a leader in STEM organizations. I have worked in content marketing and technical writing. Next year I got an offer to lead & promote Internshala Student Program on campus to promote training & certification skills required in the technical job & projects like C++, Java & other coding languages. I successfully completed it with AIR rank of 105 in India. Now I am in my 3rd year working on a research which focuses on Artificial Intelligence and Human Mind.
