I would like to do freelancing to enhance my confidence and skills, says Harish Kumar Vetsa

I haven’t performed well in my JEE exam. I left the easy questions while solving the difficult ones which is a common mistake that most people do.

I didn’t have any clear idea of what I’ll going to do in future during my schooling. Many students lack knowledge at that early age since they are not much aware of their personality and interests. My interests keep on changing. Sometimes, I feel this is a good sign that I am always eager to learn new things. During school days, I was very much active in all fields and fascinated towards various subjects. After intermediate, it was time for me to choose my career field. I started to assess my interests. My interest was in computers and it is still there even after my intermediate(+2).

I took no separate coaching classes to get admission into my present college. My intermediate college itself gave coaching for all the entrance exams. Like many other students, I too wanted to join IIT or NIT. I didn’t want to join any other private universities as I feel that some private universities are a burden on our parents. Nevertheless, I attempted some University entrance exams just for practice and got selected for best courses like CSE. 

I also thought of joining SASTRA Deemed University as it is one of the best University that I have ever known. It is worth the money. I don’t know why I was crazy about that college. I think it was because of the positive responses and reviews that I heard about the college or maybe my dream of studying in a South Indian state impacted me. The University considers both +2 score and JEE rank for admission. I scored pretty well in my board exams and stood 3rd in the state. But I haven’t performed well in my JEE exam. I left the easy questions while solving the difficult ones which is a common mistake that most people do. I was not interested in dropping my year and studying intermediate again. So, I tried to get admission in my dream college SASTRA and got selected for BioInformatics. But I was not much interested in it. So, I left it.

 

Finally, considering my interest in computers I decided to join the CSE/IT course. I scored good in EAMCET and got a seat in the desired course in one of the best and top colleges in Andhra Pradesh - SRKR Engineering College.

Initially, I was excited to enter into an engineering college thinking I will have a wide range of opportunities. During the first semester, I concentrated mainly on the subjects in the curriculum and spent a good amount of time on them. But in the end, I’m not satisfied with what I have done.

In the second semester, I decided not to spend much time on the curriculum like before. I looked upon to learn some technologies. I met some really good people in my college with whom I spend most of my time. Sometimes I take out some time for myself and sit alone to think about my career and future path. I am a Cybersecurity enthusiast. I love reading tech blogs and posts.

My college has a Technology Centre which provides a number of computer systems for students. It is very helpful for students who want to develop their skills and for those also who want to do some extra online courses. I used to spend my time there exploring new things. I like to attend classes that are really helpful for my Cybersecurity career. I attend most of the technical workshops to widen my knowledge. I rarely play Badminton. I don't like to play mobile games as I always wanted to be productive and don't want to waste my time on unnecessary things. The other extra-curricular activity that I usually engage in is Dancing. I would like to do freelancing which will help me boost up my confidence, enhance my skills and also help me in earning my own penny.
