If given a chance, I would like to teach someone using my own methods and techniques, says Mainak Nandi

I took no coaching classes from any private institute as my personal tutors supported me a lot and helped me in every possible way.
Honestly, I wanted to pursue Physics Honours from any reputed college but different factors made me join an engineering college. In class XI/XII I had chosen the Science stream, not because of any family or social pressure, but with my own choice. At that time, my favourite subject was Biology. In High School, I came across Physics and Mathematics which changed my life. I became eager to know how such simple equations can tell a lot about something.
I chose electrical engineering as I think it is closest to basic Physics. So, without any second thought, I joined electrical engineering. I wanted to join Jadavpur University but my rank didn’t allow me to do so. Therefore as a second option, I joined Kalyani Government Engineering College and now I am pretty much happy with my college.

I gave JEE Main exam and WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam). My JEE Main Rank was horrible (above 50000) but my WBJEE rank was good (1727). I was unable to join any government college with my JEE rank but my WBJEE rank brought me to Kalyani Government Engineering College. I didn’t give JEE Advanced exam as I thought I would not qualify for the exam and my money would waste. I took no coaching classes from any private institute as my personal tutors supported me a lot and helped me in every possible way.
I never had any such inclination towards a particular college but I wanted to join Jadavpur University.
My college is very far away ( about 50km ) from my home. I travel via train which takes a lot of my time each day. In college, I always sit with my friends at the back and honestly, I don’t listen to any lecture. We play all sort of mobile games at the back, listen to music, play chess and above all, enjoy our college life. Out all the boring classes, some classes are good such as Physics in which I try to pay maximum attention.
I had a misconception before joining the college, that the college friends will not be helpful, selfish and will always be politically aligned. But, after spending for about a year, I can say that neither our college union nor our college students have any political alignment. So, I think KGEC cleared this misconception of mine and it became a big turning point of my college life. If given a chance, I would like to teach someone using my own methods and perspective.
