NEET and JEE Main aspirants from around the country has claimed that they don't feel as much scared of the pandemic as much as they are of a delay in the academic calendar and uncertainty. With JEE Main 2021 for phase 3 and 4 been postponed indefinitely and National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) 2021 application forms not released yet, anxiety amongst students is increasing. NEET 2021 date is scheduled to be held on August 1, 2021.

However,  JEE Main 2021 exam date for the remaining two phases has not been announced by National Testing Agency (NTA) .  Meanwhile, the CBSE Class 12 Board exams were cancelled. But even after this, there has been no information about the tentative schedule of releasing the NEET 2021 application for or other events of the exam such as the release of the NEET 2021 admit card, exam, releasing answer keys and results. As per news reports, while NTA is finalizing the schedule and JEE Main new dates, it is also planning to postpone NEET 2021.

Speaking on the delay one of the student preparing for JEE Main Exam from last two years said, โ€œThe government has to provide clarity regarding when and if the exams will be conducted." Not conducting the exams, however, is not a solution, he said. Like him, lakhs of students are awaiting an announcement on NEET and JEE exams.

Another NEET aspirant says that the long wait is impacting studentsโ€™ mental health and affecting studies. She claims that it hampers the preparations too. She also demands vaccination for the students before examinations.

โ€œPlease make a clear statement so the students can focus on their studies and not feel negativity while preparing for these exams. I would like to prefer the postponement of these exams till September like last year. Till then every student can be vaccinated and they can give their exams safely," she said.

As per media reports, the Education Ministry is mulling to conduct JEE Main 2021 in July and August and NEET 2021 in September. The Ministry is in the process of reviewing the COVID-19 situation across states and UTs and will is expected to make an announcement soon.
