The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal has decided to call back all PhD (full-time) scholars except first year and postgraduate final year (MTech, MSc, MCA and MBA) students to the campus from November 1, 2021.

As per a circular issued by NIT Warangal, the scholarship/stipend shall be recommended from November 1 onwards based on the physical attendance of students. Students are advised to contact the chief warden/Dean, Student Affairs, for SoPs /protocols to be followed for returning to the campus.

Meanwhile, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur is also calling around 500 final-year BTech students to the campus in November as students were unable to attend online placement interviews due to poor internet connection at home. An official of the institute said the final-year students would be using the connectivity facilities on the campus to attend interviews. “The interview process has begun but the bulk of the interviews will start in November. So, the authorities have decided to bring back the students next month,” he said. Most of the students who will be returning to the campus are from Rajasthan and north-eastern states and a few districts of Bengal, including Bankura.

All MTech final-year students at the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST) Shibpur can visit the campus for offline classes from October 20, 2021. An official of IIEST Shibpur said they carried out a survey about the vaccination status among the 300-odd students and found out that 80 per cent had taken at least one dose. “We hope that all of them will take the second jab before the recall process begins,” he said.
