NIT Warangal Placement 2020: Over 700 students received placement offers amid COVID-19 crisis
At least 732 final-year students of the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal, received full-time employment offers from the leading recruiters of the industry recently.
While the economy is struggling due to the lockdown imposed in order to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, at least 732 final-year students of the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal, received full-time employment offers from the leading recruiters of the industry recently. According to the placement report, a total of fourteen students of the prominent institute managed to secure an offer with a CTC of Rs 43.33 lakh per annum (LPA). The package is marked as the highest pay package of this year’s placement drive.
The Training and Placement Section (TAPS) at NIT-W enabled the students to bag job and internship offers through campus placement drives. Approximately 177 companies hired over 80 per cent of NIT’s UG students. The average compensation has increased to Rs 12.15 LPA from Rs 9.93 LPA this academic year.
The NIT Warangal Placement Drive that began in the month of August 2019 saw Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Indian Telephone Industries (ITI) recruiting six and sixteen students respectively. It is for the first time in NIT Warangal’s history students received offers from ISRO and ITI. Around thirty-three Government of India companies also visited the campus and participated in the placement process.
Due to the rising economic crisis in the country, many students of prominent institutes witnessed revoke of the offers they received during the placement drives, quoting the same, NIT Director NV Ramana Rao stated, “As of now, none of the 177 companies have revoked any offers. In fact, many are asking how soon we can conduct final examinations so that students can join them immediately.
