Rajasthan Pre-Engg Test (RPET) in May

Conducted by the Board of Technical Education (BTE), Rajasthan, RPET (Rajasthan Pre-Engineering Test) is a state level Examination taken by aspirants seeking admission into undergraduate engineering courses at Government aided and Private Unaided technical institutions of Rajasthan (except BITS Pilani, MNIT Jaipur and other Deemed & Private Universities).

RPET 2014 is scheduled to be conducted in the month of May (tentative date : May 22) for admissions to different Engineering programmes for the year 2014-15.

The online registration for the same is likely to commence from March 2014.

Eligibility:

Applicants must have cleared 10+2 examination in science discipline from a Board of Secondary Education Rajasthan or Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examination.

Exam pattern:

• A three-hour paper, RPET comprises 40 objective type questions each from Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.
• Total number of questions: 120 (one mark each)
• Wrong answers will hold no negative marks
• The questions in the test booklet will be in Hindi as well as in English. However, in case of any difference in Hindi & English versions of question, the questions in English version shall be treated as valid.

Admissions to Rajasthan Technical University colleges for the coming academic session will be based on the RPET 2014. But the admission process will also include:

• 60% marks of the JEE Main 2014 entrance examination
• 40% Marks of the 10+2 Board or any equivalent examination from a recognised institute
