SASTRA University’s annual cultural fest Kuruksastra concludes successfully

The eleventh edition of Kuruksastra, the annual cultural fest of SASTRA University was held over a period of four days from March 23 to 26. This cultural extravaganza was kick started by the varsity music team and the tempo set by them was maintained throughout the entirety of the fest.
The fest witnessed several competitions being organised by various clubs ranging from dumb charades and mono acting to dance and arts. Attended by over 1000 participants from more than 80 colleges over India, the fest had much to offer to the eager participants.

Besides the regular events, there were many other points of interest such as the stand-up comedy by Evam Stand-up Tamasha, English play by Crea-Shakthi, performance of Shri Rajhesh Vaidhya and band, power talk by various eminent personalities like Shri Gnanasambandan, a dance workshop spearheaded by Smt. Swarnamalya and a solo mime event judged by the famous Mr. ‘Mime’ Gopi. There were other learning opportunities like workshops on watercolor painting, hip-hop, professional wedding photography and wildlife photography by experts in the fields.
Each day was given a spectacular finish by great performances. If the crowd put on their dance shoes for the ‘Choreo nite’, they tuned to their musical frequency on the ‘Instrumental nite’, the night when Rajhesh Vaidhya enthralled the viewers with his finesse and panache.
The final day definitely belonged to Karthik & Krew who gave a mesmerising performance, one that will be surely remembered by the students for the foreseeable future.
The night ended with the overall trophy being awarded to the students of NIT-Trichy, a fitting award for their persistent efforts.
