The starting salary offered is more than 70,000 Australian dollars per annum, which is approximately 35 lakhs (INR), one of the highest salaries offered for fresh graduates.

SP Jain School of Global Management has announced that the Bachelors of Data Sciences (BDS) course has been accredited by the Data Science Council of America (DASCA). The DASCA has been the foremost credentialing body for Data Science and Engineering programs in the United States and around the world. The Data Science Council has accredited only established IITs and top 3 NITs in India. SP Jain has become the only institute in Australia to have this accreditation.

The BDS course of the institute is conducted in Mumbai/Sydney and leads to work visa in Australia. Given the skill shortage in Australia, the starting salary offered is more than 70,000 Australian dollars per annum, which is approximately 35 lakhs (INR), one of the highest salaries offered for fresh graduates. The course has also observed a significant demand over the last year. Australia has also become the key employment hub for aspiring Indian Data Scientists.

While highlighting the rising interest of this field of study, Abhijit Dasgupta, Director of Data Science Programs at SP Jain, said that Data Science is the "new Engineering" as the world has moved from the Industrial era and runs on the data today. He also mentioned that Data Scientist has been named the topmost job in the US by Glassdoor for three years consecutively. According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the rise of data science needs will create 11.5 million job openings by 2026.
The five biggest tech companies including Amazon, Google, Apple, Microsoft and Facebook, which contributes to more than 52% of world’s market capitalization globally, are one of the biggest employers of data scientists and engineers. However, advanced education in Data Science is required to break into these high-paying jobs. The base pay of data science professionals touched an all-time high of $114,000 in Australia, as reported by Glassdoor on January 7, 2020.

SP Jain students get an opportunity to pursue part of their course in Australia. Upon completion of the course, they get an Australian degree and also 2-year Post Study Work Rights.
The 3-year intensive programme provides the students with a strong foundation in Statistics, Mathematics, Programming, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Engineering, and Big Data Engineering among other verticals and enables them to seek a career with world premier data science hubs, the Big 4, IT and Analytics firms in the world. The candidates are equipped with various skills during the course. The skills include strategy development, improving operational efficiencies, terminating risks, reducing costs, among others.
