In an exclusive interview with shiksha, SRM Institute of Science and Technology President Dr. P Sathyanarayanan talks about the new 200-acre Amravati Campus in Andhra Pradesh.

SRM Institute of Science & Technology is a part of 40 years old SRM group of Educational Institutions. In addition to the Amravati campus, SRM Institute of Science & Technology has it has 7 other operational campuses - 4 in Tamil Nadu - Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, Vadapalani, Tiruchchirappalli and others in NCR, Sonepat and Gangtok. 

We want to emerge as a world-class university in creating and disseminating knowledge and providing students a unique learning experience in their chosen field of scholarship that would best serve the society.

We want to achieve our vision in 10 years and to have educated a number of job creators and entrepreneurs who would develop our society.

Our facilities. Our people. We have international architects Perkins + Will who have designed a progressive infrastructure that would facilitate new and innovative forms of learning. Our faculty are eminent professors all of whom have PhDs from international universities or IITs or IISc. 90% of our faculty have had international academic exposure.

Yes, we have collaborations with MIT U.S., UC Berkeley, and EFREI, France. We are working with MIT in the design and development of our curriculum through the use of MITx courses.

UC Berkeley and EFREI will provide student exchange opportunities for over 20 students, faculty support, and course design support.

We are starting with 240 students in the first year. We are not looking at international students currently.

The campus offers UG Programs in the fields of Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics & Communication and Mechanical Engineering.

UG program fee is Rs 2.5 lakhs per annum for all our courses.

Yes, scholarships are being given to students. 50% tuition fee waiver will be provided for admitted students with an aggregate score of 90% and above in CBSE or 95% and above in state board in PCM subjects. 100% tuition and hostel fee waiver will be provided for the top 25 admitted students who meet the above scholarship criteria.
