Students’ Speak: What should you do after JEE Main January 2020 Result?
By: Kandarp Patel
A common question that you all those who attempted JEE in January is should I attempt JEE Mains in April 2020 or not? The answer to this question may vary based upon the score of an aspirant.
Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Mains 2020 result for the January session was released recently. I am hoping that you have scored well. If not then don’t worry much as there is also a second chance to do well. So, in this article, I will be discussing the effective steps you should take after JEE Mains result.
The first common question that you all have in your mind after your result (though whatever you have scored) is should I attempt JEE Mains in April 2020 or not? The answer to this question may vary based upon the score of an aspirant.
But in general, advice would be that the students who have scored more than 97 or 98 percentile should now focus and start preparing for JEE Advanced. As for now, you have ample time for Advanced exam, so you can really get some effective result if you utilise this particular time in the best way.
Now for the students, who have scored over 90 percentile and less than 95 percentile, it depends on you. Because in this case you have to think that am I having this score due to some small mistakes that I made in this attempt or it is the deserving score (or more than that) according to my preparation? If you have this score due to small some mistakes then kindly go for JEE Advanced or else go for JEE Mains April and try to increase more and more by utilising two and a half months of preparation.
For the students, who have scored between 80-90 percentile should try to focus on April and try to focus on Boards (for safer side).
And lastly, for the students with a score below 80 percentile, you should focus much on Boards rather than JEE Mains April. I am not saying that you can’t perform well or score well in JEE Mains April. If you think that you can definitely go for it but boards should be also your higher priority because if in case score in April is not much satisfactory then at that time if you have some good score in boards then it can surely benefit you much.
Apart from this above strategy, try to give other entrance exams as well which are similar to JEE like BITSAT, VITEE, SRMJEE etc as for getting some more opportunities and also for safer side.
And the last case comes where your score is decent or average and now you don’t want to give JEE Mains April and JEE Advanced (if eligible) then the effective advice would be focus on your Boards and meanwhile start searching colleges in which you can get admission through all your score with effective Shiksha.com college predictor and selection tool.
