1. National Institute of Technology Surathkal (NITK): This is a government-run institute established in 1960. It offers courses in B.E/ B.Tech, M.E/M.Tech/ M.B.A/PGDM, MCA, M.Sc, and Ph.D in streams like Engineering, Business and Management, IT and Software and Science. The Institute has a dedicated placement cell that caters to the placement formalities and invites major companies to participate in the placement drive. In the year 2018, the Institute boasted 92% of students placed at the undergraduate level. The Institute has been ranked 21 by the NIRF 2019.

2. Manipal Institute Of Technology, Manipal University: Has been ranked 43 by the NIRF. Established in the year 1957 this private Institute offers over 82 courses in 5 different streams. The streams are divided into Engineering, Science, IT & Software, Architecture, and planning, and Aviation. With a robust placement cell, around 160 companies participated in the placement drive in 2019 and approximately 95% of the students were placed. The highest annual package offered was Rs 22.38 LPA to a B.Tech student. 

3. R.V College of Engineering:  This private autonomous college was set up in the year 1963 and has been ranked 63 by the NIRF in 2019. With almost 34 courses in Engineering, IT & Software, and Architecture Planning, admission is based on the score received in the KCET. The college has made remarkable progress in placement drive. In the year 2019, 90% of the students were placed. The highest package offered was to student was Rs 50lakhs. 

4. Ramaiah Institute of Technology: Established in the year 1962, the autonomous institute is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU). Admission in the Institute is based on the score obtained in the KEA/COMEDK exam. With more than 55 courses in both graduate and postgraduate level, the major streams of education are Engineering, Architecture & Planning, Banking, Finance and Insurance, IT & Software, and Science. The college has an almost 95% placement record over the last few years. NIRF ranking for the year 2019 is 64.

5. International Institute of Information and Technology: Ranked 65 by NIRF, the institute is approved by UGC and has received grade A from the NAAC. Established in 1999, admission to the courses is based on the score obtained in the JEE mains, GATE/GRE or the IIITB Entrance exam depending upon the course selected. The highest annual package offered in the 2019 placement was Rs 54 lakhs while 3 students received international offers.

6. BMS College Of Engineering: A Private autonomous college running since 1946. It has been ranked 69 by the NIRF for the year 2019. With over 45 different courses in 5 separate streams of education, the college accepts admission in the B.E courses based on the score of the candidate in the COMEDK/KCET examination. The college has over 300 companies visiting each year for placements. The highest package offered in the year 2018 was Rs. 10 lakhs.

7. Siddaganga Institute Of Technology: Ranked 79 by NIRF, The Institute is a privately run autonomous body. Founded in 1963 there are 28 courses in 5 different streams like Engineering, IT, Science, Architecture, and Management. The admission to the Graduate level courses is based on the KCET examination score, while for M.Tech courses it is on the basis of the GATE score. In the year 2018, the maximum CTC offered was Rs 7.5lakhs.

8. New Horizon College of Engineering: This is a privately owned autonomous college and has received an A grade from NAAC. Set up in the year 2001, the college offers 23 courses across 4 streams. Admission in the graduate level B.Tech courses is based on KCET and KRLMPCA exam. As per the latest report, the maximum salary offered was Rs 12lkahs. It has been ranked 106 by the NIRF in 2019.

9. Jain University: Set up in 1990, Jain is a UGC approved University, AIU member and has received an A grade from the NAAC. It runs a massive 231 courses across 18 different streams. Admission to both graduate and postgraduate courses is based on the JET(Jain Entrance Test) conducted by the college itself. Placement is good with maximum CTC offered being Rs 7lakhs per annum.

10. Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering: Ranked 120 by the NIRF is a private and autonomous college founded in 1963. It offers 28 different courses at both graduate and postgraduate levels in 3 different streams. The admission process varies with each course and stream. The highest CTC offered in the 2018 pass out batch was Rs11LPA.
