What should you choose: Branch over College or College over Branch?
By Engihacks
This choice has been a very tough one for most of the engineering aspirants, I would say every member of our community – Engihacks – has faced this problem as it is surrounded by many important factors. The choice should always be based on your personal inclination supported by your score(rank).
Considering the best college will be the best choice in case you have landed with an average or a below average score as getting a good branch will be hard. However, if you are truly interested in a particular branch, you should be ready to accept any lower college which will provide you with that branch as every branch has its own potential for a student to excel. Therefore, gather information about a branch, check if it aligns with your interest, keeping in mind the scope of job and higher studies too.

If your score is above average and have a concrete idea about the type of branch (circuit or non-circuit based branch), choosing the right college will be helpful as selecting the best institute will provide you with a well-established academic system, qualified professors with a great experience in their respective fields as well as good institutes offer a tremendous scope in scaling up your abilities. It encourages an overall growth of a student in terms of technical career as well as extra-curricular activities. You should always gather good amount of information about placement and internship records of a particular institution and branches.
Lastly, this choice also depends on the location of the college from your hometown and metro cities. Always consider your interests, match it with the information gathered on various aspects of those colleges and branches before arriving at the conclusion. Don’t just follow your peers or seniors blindly as everyone has a different reason for having chosen a particular field of study. So, gather a good deal of information regarding the same from various sources. Interacting with seniors will help you positively, but choose the seniors wisely and then make your decision which is best for you.
