NSI Admission Test 2025 application process for the academic session 2025-2025 will start in the fourth week of May 2025, tentatively. The application process will be completely online starting from the registrations to the submission of the application fee. 

The examination conducting body, The National Sugar Institute (NSI), Kanpur will release the NSI Admission Test 2025 exam notification prior to the start of NSI Application form. The last date for filling up the application will be the fourth week of May, tentatively. Before doing the online registrations, candidates are advised to check the minimal eligibility criteria carefully, so that they do not lose their candidature at the last moment.

The NSI Admission Test is conducted annually to select candidates for admission to various postgraduate diploma and certificate courses in food science and technology. The test is held in a pen-paper-based test mode to check the candidate's domain knowledge in the form of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) for the duration of three hours, depicting the NSI Admission Test 2025 exam pattern.

NSI Admission Test 2025 is expected to be conducted in the fourth week of June in two sessions, and different sets of question papers will be used for each session. The Institute provides facilities for training students in Sugar Technology, Sugar Engineering, Industrial Fermentation and Alcohol Technology, etc.

  • PGANSI-ST: Candidates who have passed Bachelor of Science (BSc) with Chemistry. Physics & Mathematics or an equivalent bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering are eligible for this course.
  • PGANSI-SE: Candidates who have passed a bachelor’s degree or A.M.I.E (from The Institutions of Engineers, India) in Mechanical / Production / Electrical./ Electrical & Electronics/ Chemical Engineering are eligible for this course.

  • SEBC: Candidates should have completed a Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Electrical./ Electrical & Electronics from a recognized Technical School/Polytechnic. 
  • SCQC: Candidates who have passed class 12th in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects.  

Age Limit Criteria:

The candidates applying for the above-mentioned courses should not be more than 35 years. They should be born on or after July 1, 1986, to be considered.

There are 8 post graduate Diploma courses provided by the National Sugar Instititute. Out of that, 7 courses doesnot require any work experience for appearing in the NSI Admission Test 2024 examination. However, a course named "Sugar Boiling Certificate Course" required a prior exeprience of one season (minimum 90 days) of pan-operation in a vaccum pan sugar Factory along with nomination.

NSI Admission Test 2025 Process

The admission process through NSI Admission Test 2025 is as under: 

Step 1: Application -

(a) 1st step: - Eligibility Checking Online (Student Registration Number Generated )
      2nd step: - Application form fill-up online. After successful submission, candidate will receive computer generated filled in application form in pdf format. (One office copy & other student copy)
(b) The office copy of the application form generated from NSI website should be submittedto Director, National Sugar Institute, Kanpur along with the following documents:-
(i) Self-attested Pass port size Photograph pasted on plain paper
(ii) Self-Attested copy of the certificate as proof for Date of birth.
(iii) Demand draft towards the application fees (not required for foreign categorycandidate).
(iv) Self-Attested copies of the mark sheets. [For each Year / Semester of B.Sc./B.E.,etc.]
(v) Original copy of the Nomination Form generated from NSI website by on line application at the time of submission of form. [ Compulsory for SBCC only]

Candidates seeking admissions to the listed courses can apply to NSI Admission Test 2025 in online mode, and then submit the filled-in application form on the following address:

Candidates also need to pay the application fee of NSI Admission Test 2025 in the form of a Demand Draft along with the application form. The DD should be drawn in favour of “Director, National Sugar Institute” payable at Kanpur. 

The application fee for unreserved categories is Rs 1500 and, for SC/ST category, it is Rs 1000. The mode of fee payment is the same for all.

Step 2: Download admit card - Candidates who have submitted the application form for NSI Admission Test 2025 will be issued admit cards to appear for the exam. The admit card of NSI Admission Test 2025 mentioned details about the exam date, timings, test paper, details of candidates appearing for the test and, test centre details. Candidates has to download it from the official website and, get printouts on A4 sheets to carry on the exam day.

Step 3: Appear for NSI Admission Test - Candidates have to appear for NSI Admission Test 2025 as per the schedule mentioned for their paper. They should carry admit card and a valid photo ID proof on the exam day. Candidates should reach the test centres at least an hour before the exam timings.

Step 4: Declaration of results and admission process - The institute would declare the results of the NSI Admission Test 2025 within a month of conducting the examination. Moreover, a merit list of shortlisted candidates and, a waitlist will be published on the official website. Candidates shortlisted for admissions will be informed separately about the admission schedule. 

NSI Admission Test 2025 Exam Centres

The admission test for all the courses will be held in two different shifts at the following test centres: 

  • Pune
  • Chennai
  • Delhi
  • Kanpur
  • Kolkata
  • Patna

Candidates will be allotted an exam centre in their preferred city, based on availability.

Please note that the NSI Admission Test is a national-level exam, and candidates from all over India are eligible to apply. However, the number of exam centres is limited, so it is advisable to apply early in order to get a preferred exam centre.
