Convincing my parents to let me do Hotel Management was a difficult task but somehow I succeeded: Khushi Verma

Coming to Vedatya is like moving one step forward to achieve my goal. After I completed my schooling, I was very confused about what to do next. I gave many entrance exams and one of them was of Vedatya, an institute which is a part of ownership of Radisson Hotel Delhi and Varanasi. I gave my personal interview and written exam to be a part of it and luckily I got selected in the very first list and got very excited about it. After this, I made up my mind that I will do Hotel Management only from Vedatya Institute because while giving the interview I was so pleased with the panel and the vibe was so good that it made me fell in love with it.

Convincing my parents to let me do Hotel Management was a difficult task. How would a child feel when he wants his favourite toy from a shop and his parents are not allowing him to buy that. Yes, the situation was the same. I wanted to do Hotel Management and I was confident Vedatya will be the best for me. Slowly and steadily, I convinced my parents to at least visit the campus. After having a look at the campus, the big farms, the atmosphere, the ambiance, concept of farm to fork, my parents were so pleased and happy and they didn't have a choice to deny this place so they paid the fees immediately. 

From getting nervous while facing people to interacting with them confidently, this place taught me everything. One of the best things about this college is the faculty, all the teachers over here are so inspiring and always supportive. After giving many presentations and mock interviews, I have seen my personality improving. Being well groomed and punctual are the things I always have to remember while being in college. There is always fun in attending the practical and theory sessions and we always get something new to learn. Not only academics but our college also organizes many co-curricular activities and I always try my best to take part in every activity like Rangoli Competition, Flower Arrangement competition, sand castle competition and many others.

Vedatya also gave me an opportunity to give interviews for my internship in many hotels like Holiday Inn, Aerocity, The Imperial, New Delhi and Pullman, Aerocity. I really worked hard and gave my best and got selected in Pullman, Aerocity. 

I am really very happy and I can't wait to make more memories here. The love and motivation which my module leaders have given me help me to grow more as an individual and I will always try my best to make them proud. My journey here till now has been really very beautiful and I hope it gets better and better. I hope Vedatya enlightens me with an abundance of both practical and theoretical knowledge and a few years down the line I get invited to my own college as an alumnus.
