I have always been an average student in academics, never had much of an interest in studying. In my 11th-12th, with the increasing maturity level and sincerity towards life, I decided to leave all the rowdiness and cheap thrills and knocked myself into a different life of peace, helping nature, of care and love. Earlier, I was very much interested in NDA, I wanted to join the Indian Army but due to my eye power, I couldn’t apply for NDA. Later, I realised that I need to do something in the field of hospitality since I love and I have served people through my own NGO, as well as the NGOs I am connected with, which is working for the poor and includes works like clothes distribution to food distribution, providing education, and environmental concerns such as cleanliness drive and plantation drive.

I was given many responsibilities in the school as well as outside, co-curricular activities, which slowly and steadily made me the individual that I am today. After my schooling, when I was searching for a good college, I was told about Vedatya Institute by my cousin brother, who happens to be an alumnus of Vedatya Institute. Therefore, I did some checking and got my way through and here I am, at Vedatya Institute.

I surely did apply for many colleges. Immediately, after my 12th Board Results, I applied for NCHMCT(IHM), IIHM, Oberoi STEP and Vedatya Institute, out of which, I cracked IIHM(International Institute of Hotel Management-Delhi), NCHMCT(IHM) and I got eliminated in the 4th(Final Round) for Oberoi STEP. Therefore, I opted for Vedatya Institute out of IHM and IIHM. I didn’t take any coaching class for the entrance exams of the mentioned above categories, though I did buy and studied from an NCHMCT 2018 book with last 10 years question papers of Hotel Management.

The admission process to get into Vedatya Institute was classified into 2 categories - Written Exam (Numerical, GK, Reasoning and English) and GDPI(Group Discussion was among 10 students) and Personal Interview round was with our F&B Service Prof. and Chef(Faculty Member) of Vedatya Institute.

In college, the best part of Vedatya Institute is their lawn and open area, where one can hold classes, take walk and roam around with friends. I like spending time with my friends in the open field. I also like spending time in the library completing assignments or learning techniques and skills which can be helpful in the industry. Well, if I rate the classes, I would rank the Front Office Department as 1st, 2nd would be F&B Service, 3rd being Housekeeping and 4th would be F&B Production. Food Production - nothing else, apart from the fact that I’m not that interested in Culinary. I like attending Front Office classes the most since I have a deep interest in the Front Office Department and also in the future, I would be pursuing FO Department as my career option.

I am part of the Photography Club and Literary Club at my college. If I were given a chance to do something in/for the college, the first thing I would like to do would be conducting a plantation drive in the college, since we have a huge area of agricultural land and I think it would be a good initiative. Another one could be organising Industrial Tour and Out-Door Catering (ODC) on a monthly basis for all the students to gain some actual work experience. Otherwise, overall I am having a good exposure/experience, facing the challenges and responsibilities in the Hospitality Industry. I am looking forward to becoming one of the best executives the industry has ever come across - giving most of my time and devotion to this field, doing a good job and making everyone proud who is associated with me.
