Front Office Manager

People with such a profile oversee the work of receptionists, reservation clerks, information clerk as well as other personnel such as the doorman and the bell boy. Q:   Who is eligible to apply for NCHMCT JEE?

A:

To be eligible to apply for NCHMCT JEE 2025, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Educational Qualification:

  • Passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board or university with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
  • English as a core, functional, or elective subject in Class 12.

Age Limit:

  • General and OBC candidates: 25 years as of July 1, 2024 (born on or after July 1, 1999).
  • SC, ST, and Physically Challenged candidates: 28 years as of July 1, 2024 (born on or after July 1, 1996).

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates appearing in Class 12 or an equivalent examination are also eligible to apply on a provisional basis. However, they must produce proof of passing the qualifying examination at the time of counselling or admission.
  • Candidates must be physically fit and able to perform the duties required for a career in hospitality and hotel management.

Food and Beverage Manager

Professionals in this career choice particularly need to plan, organise and supervise the work of the catering department. People in this profile usually have the task of interacting with guests and ensuring that the needs/demands of customers are fulfilled.

People working in this profile are responsible for taking stock of cutlery, linens, paper, cleaning supplies, cooking utensils as well as furniture and fixtures of the hotel. They are also the people in-charge for arranging equipment maintenance and repairs.

Chef

A:
Minimum requirements: The candidate should be above 18 years and below 20 years of age, as on 15th August of the year of the commencement of the programme. The candidate should have attained a clear pass in class XII as on 1st July of the year of the commencement of the programme, from a board recognised by the Indira Gandhi National Open University, India. For hotel operations programme (Front Office / Food and Beverage Service focus) and kitchen operations programme. The candidate should have obtained 61% marks or above, in English in class X. The equivalent in CBSE is a B2 Grade or a 7 Grade Point. For Hotel Operations Programme (Housekeeping focus) The candidate should have obtained 51% marks or above, in English in class X. The equivalent in CBSE is a C1 Grade or a 6 Grade Point. Qualities we are looking for A positive attitude with a desire for excellence Good communication skills in English Strong interpersonal skills Initiative, drive and an eye for detail Team orientation Selection process Come to the venue of the selection process on the date you have chosen. Please arrive on time. You will not be admitted once the process starts. On the day of the interview, the candidate must bring the following documents with him/her: Self-attested copies of the following: One print-out of their application form along with one passport-size photograph. One copy of their class X certificate. If the candidate's certificate does not mention their date of birth, one copy of their birth certificate will be required. One copy of their class XII certificate. The candidate should be deemed medically fit by our company doctor. All the testimonials should be verified as authentic. A typical selection day will commence with candidates registering for one of the programmes. The age limit to appear for the Oberoi STEP programme is 18 to 25 years at the time of joining. This age range applies to most of the programs offered by Oberoi STEP, including Hotel Operations, Culinary Arts, and other hospitality-related training programs.

Q:   Is there any age limit criteria for IIHM eCHAT?

A:

The upper age limit is 22 years on June 1 for 2024 examinations.The IIHM eCHAT is a unique online proctored Management Aptitude Test. It is a common admission test held for admission to various hotel management courses offered by IIHM campuses present in Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Jaipur, New Delhi, Pune, Goa, Samarkand, Bangkok. ECHAT is an objective type of test with multiple-choice answers. Banquet Manager

People who choose this profile are responsible for every event that is conducted at the hotel’s banquet. The banquet manager is responsible to rent out the banquet to companies for corporate events as well as private parties.

A banquet manager needs to work very closely with the catering department as well as the food and beverage manager to ensure that timely snacks, food and drinks are offered to the guests.

Steward

Hotel stewards are responsible for ensuring that the necessary cutlery is laid out at the hotel’s restaurants along with ensuring that the banquet rooms have adequate and proper furnishings. However, the responsibility of a steward does not end there. They also need to ensure that the food for room service is prepared quickly and orders are filled quickly, properly and accurately.

Stewards also need to have a good memory and remember all the order specifications accurately.

Housekeeping Manager

They are responsible for ensuring that the entire hotel premises (which includes the guest rooms, meeting rooms, banquet rooms and reception area) is clean and well maintained.

A housekeeping manager is also responsible for training, making rosters and supervising the work of housekeepers along with timely ordering for cleaning supplies.

Housekeeping manager supervises the working of housekeepers, cleaners and seamstresses.

Floor Supervisors

They are in-charge of the upkeep of all the rooms on a hotel’s floor. They work closely with maids and bell boys.
