IIHM eCHAT 2016 Application Process

International Institute of Hotel Management has invited applications for admission to the hotel management programmes offered by it. Eligible candidates can apply for the International Institute of Hotel Management’s (IIHM’s) Electronic Common Hotel Admission Test (eCHAT) in the online or offline mode latest by May 4, 2016. Courses on offer at IIHM include BA in Hospitality Management, Advanced Diploma in International Hospitality Administration, and BSc in Hotel Management, Catering and Tourism.

Given below is the detailed description for the offline and online application process for IIHM eCHAT 2016.

IIHM eCHAT 2016 Application Process in Offline Mode

STEP 1: Filling the application form

Eligible candidates can download the IIHM eCHAT 2016 application form from the official website of IIHM. Details to be filled in the application form are as follows:

1. Choosing preferred IIHM campus: To choose the IIHM campus preference candidates need to tick the checkbox against the respective city. IIHM eCHAT campus locations include:

• Delhi
• Kolkata
• Pune
• Jaipur
• Bengaluru
• Hyderabad
• Ahmedabad
• Bangkok

2. Personal details: Here, candidates need to mention details such as name, gender, date of birth, place of birth, nationality, religion, and father’s and mother’s mobile number.

3. Contact details: This section requires details such as the candidate’s permanent address, correspondence address, mobile number, and email ID.

4. Guardian details: Here, candidates need to specify details of either the father or the mother (name, occupation, address, phone number, email ID).

5. Academic qualification: This section requires candidates to specify their education details of Class X and XII. The details include mentioning the name of school, board, year of passing, and percentage scored.

6. Test centre details: This includes writing the preferred test centre name and code for both the written exam and GDPI (group discussion and personal interview) rounds. Candidates can get the exact test centre names and codes on http://echat.elink.in/centres.asp.

7. Signature and date

8. Photograph: Candidates need to affix their coloured passport size photograph on the application form.

Note: All details in the application form need to be filled in capital letters only.

STEP 2: Paying the application fee

The application fee for IIHM eCHAT 2016 is Rs 300. The fee can be paid either by cash, cheque, or demand draft (DD). DD should be drawn in favour of International Institute of Hotel Management, payable at Delhi/ Pune/ Bengaluru/ Jaipur/ Kolkata/ Ahmedabad/ Hyderabad.

STEP 3: Submitting the application form

Once the application form is duly filled, candidates need to submit it along with the registration fee in person or by post at the respective IIHM campus.

IIHM eCHAT 2016 Application Process in Online Mode

Candidates can also apply for IIHM eCHAT 2016 in the online mode. For this, candidates need to click on the link “Register Now” present on the Home page of the website. On clicking the link, a new window will open. Candidates need to put their email ID and password on the window and click the “Submit” button. It may be noted that the email ID works as the candidate’s username. On clicking the button registration form will open on the screen.

STEP 1: Filling the online registration form

Details to be filled in the online application form include:

1. Personal details: Candidates need to fill personal details such as name, gender, date of birth, and father’s name and occupation.

2. Contact details: Just as the offline application form, candidates need to mention details such as permanent address, correspondence address, mobile number, and email ID.

3. Educational details: This includes specifying details of Class X and XII (board, year of passing, and percentage obtained).

4. Exam details: Under this section, candidates need to choose their exam centre and GDPI (group discussion and personal interview) centre from the dropdown list.

5. Registration details: This section includes filling details such as username and password and date of registration. This also includes selecting the preferred IIHM campus for admission from the dropdown list.

After all details in the online application form of IIHM eCHAT are duly filled, candidates should click the “Submit” button present at the bottom of the page. The IIHM eCHAT 2016 application form will be submitted successfully.

Note: Before clicking on the “Submit” button, candidates are recommended to note their registration number mentioned on the top of the online registration form for future reference.

STEP 2: Paying the registration fee

After the form is successfully submitted, candidates can make the application fee (Rs 300) payment electronically. In such cases, prospectus will be sent to the candidates via post.
