Kolkata launches its first hospitality finishing school
Kolkata just got its first hospitality finishing school. Launched on Tuesday, June 5, Academy of Hospitality Skills (AHS) is the first-ever hospitality finishing school in the city and it will provide courses at two levels.
The two courses from AHS will cater separately to graduate applicants from any discipline and students with class X education or less.
It will be a three-month program for graduates under which they will undergo two months classroom training and one month internship at prestigious hotels. This program will focus on accommodation management, food & beverage and soft skills training on leadership, teamwork, interview skills, dressing, case studies, etc.
The other hospitality training course for aspirants with class X or below qualification will be of 6 weeks duration. It will focus on basic skills required for accommodation management and food & beverage jobs in hotels, restaurant and cafe chains. Soft skills training and practical training will also be a part of this programme.
The upcoming institute aims at nurturing industry-ready professionals to bridge the gap between increased demand for professionals and the supply of quality professionals in the hospitality industry.
