Manipal WGSHA Admissions 2015: Eligibility, Selection Process & Fee

Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration (WGSHA) was established as part of Dr TMA Pai Foundation. The foundation in 1987 “joined hands with Welcomgroup, the hotel division of ITC Ltd. to set up the WGSHA institute” informs the official website.

Manipal Applications Open for 2019 Admissions – Apply Now

The application for Manipal WGSHA 2015 admissions are out and candidates can apply for the same on Manipal University’s official website. The last date to apply for Manipal WGSHA’s admissions 2015 is March 21, 2015.

Aspirants can apply for admissions into hospitality programmes such as Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM), BA Culinary Arts and Bachelor of Hotel Management- Lateral Entry at WGHSA.

Manipal’s official website informs that, “Bachelors in Hotel Management is a 4-year long course offered by WGSHA, approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and accredited by NBA (National Board of Accreditation)”

Eligibility

BHM Course

Bachelor of Hotel Management programme offered by WGSHA is of four years duration.

Candidates can apply for admissions if they have cleared their 10+2, A Level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent examination. 

“Candidates can apply both under General and Foreign/NRI categories. Change of category from Foreign/NRI to General after admission will not be entertained”, informs the official website.

BHM-Lateral Entry Course

The duration of Bachelor of Hotel Management – Lateral entry course is three years. In this hotel management programme, aspirants are offered admissions directly into the second year (3rd semester) of BHM course.

The eligibility criterion for WGSHA’s BHM lateral entry course specifies that only those candidates will be offered admissions in this programme who possess a three year diploma in hotel management.

Similar to BHM programme offered at WGSHA, in BHM lateral entry programme also candidates can apply both under General and Foreign/NRI categories. Change of category from Foreign/NRI to General after admission will not be entertained”.

BA Culinary Arts

The duration of BA Culinary Arts programme offered by WGSHA is three years.

Candidates are eligible to apply for WGHSA’s BA Culinary Arts programme if he/she has cleared his/her 10+2, A Level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent examination.

Aspirants belonging to either the General or Foreign/NRI Category are eligible to apply for admissions at Manipal University’s WGSHA.

Selection Process

BHM Course & BA Culinary Arts

Admissions are offered to candidates on the basis of marks secured by them in the qualifying exam. No separate entrance exam is conducted to offer admissions to aspirants in Manipal WGSHA. 

Based on marks obtained by candidates in the qualifying exam, Manipal University’s hotel management division will issue a merit list on the official website after the last date for submitting the application forms.

BHM-Later Entry Course

Candidates will be offered admissions into WGSHA’s BHM-Later entry course on the basis of marks secured by them in the qualifying exam. Manipal University (WGSHA) will share a merit list with names of candidates selected for admissions on or before July 2, 2015 on the official website.

Fee

The detailed fee structure for WGSHA’s BHM as well BHM- later entry programme along with the hostel fee can be viewed by aspirants here.

The official website informs, “Fees are subject to change without notice. The fee at the time of admission is the actual fees payable. Disputes, if any, will be redressed under the University rules and regulations”.
