NCHMCT JEE 2016 Exam Analysis & Student Reaction

NCHMCT JEE exam was held across 33 test centres in India today, April 30, 2016. The exam was of three hours duration and was conducted from 10 am to 1 pm. Aspirants had to report for NCHMCT JEE 2016 at 9 am. Candidates were not be allowed to enter the exam center once the hotel management entrance test started.
NCHMCT JEE 2016 (National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology Joint Entrance Examination 2016) is divided into five sections which comprise of questions from subjects such as – General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Numerical Ability & Analytical Aptitude, English Language, Reasoning & Logical Deduction and Aptitude for Service Sector.
The exam pattern for NCHMCT JEE is such that aspirants have to attempt a total of 200 multiple choice questions in three hours duration.
Experts share that NCHMCT JEE exam is usually easy and thus, candidates need to work on scoring high and avoiding any negative marking in order to make it to the cut-off for NCHMCT JEE.
Most of the students, Shiksha spoke to shared that their NCHMCT JEE 2016 exam went well. They further revealed that questions asked in all the sections were easy to attempt and majority of them were able to complete their exam on time.
Shiksha is reporting live from an NCHMCT JEE 2016 exam centre at Vasundhara Enclave where around 1,200 students are taking the hotel management entrance exam.
NCHMCT JEE 2016 Student Feedback
A student of Sreeram School, Aditya Chhib said, “The exam was pretty simple, it wasn’t that difficult. The only thing this time was that the Scientific Aptitude questions were a little difficult. Overall the exam was pretty simple, questions in all the sections were easy. The exam pattern was the same as last year”.
Prateek Malhotra who has just finished his boards and had come all the way from Vikaspuri to give his entrance exam shared that this year, NCHMCT JEE test paper was not so tough.
Anmol Singh managed to attempt 170 questions in NCHMCT JEE exam. He was quoted as saying, “My paper was good, not so bad. For me, only the Quantitative Section was difficult”. Contrary to Anmol’s exprience, another aspirant, Aman, shared that his exam was average, “The exam wasn’t as easy as expected, I would say my exam went medium. The numerical ability section was quite hard whereas the Aptitude for Service Sector section was quite simple”.
Bhavna of KVJ School was ecstatic after giving NCHMCT JEE 2016. Talking about her experience, she said, “Exam was awesome. The Numerical Ability Section was difficult and the service sector questions was easy. The Questions asked this year were a little difficult as compared to last year but my exam went well”.
For Rashmi Mishra, NCHMCT JEE exam was very good. “The Aptitude for Service sector section was very very easy”, she said.
“Exam was easy, it wasn’t hard. NCHMCT JEE exam is always simple”, said Animesh of Shanti Gyan Niketan School, Dwarka, Animesh attempted a total of 160 questions in the exam and is quite confident that all the answers he marked are correct.
Contrary to majority of the students, Shagun Chawla who is a student of Titiksha Public School shared that she found the exam to be tough. Shagun revealed that, “For me the exam was difficult but it would have been easy for those who have prepared for it. Maths was the most difficult section for me as I am from Humanities background. While the easiest section was Aptitude for Service Sector section as there is no negative marking in it”.
Ankit Dhingra, Shubham and Sameer, all students from St Mary’s School, gave NCHMCT JEE exam and shared that their experience of appearing for NCHMCT JEE was good. Ankit shared that, “My paper was good. Maths section was tough, rest all sections were easy”. Shubham felt that his exam went average. He also said that, “As always, Service Aptitude section was easy and Maths was tough”. Quickly supporting him, Sameer chipped in to state: “My paper was good. Similar to Shubham, for me also Service Aptitude section was easy and Maths section was tough”.
Another friend of theirs, Karan Jain, a student of Brajraj Singh School, Firozabad shared that his exam was very nice. He was further quoted as saying, “Bindaas paper gaya. Compared to other sections Maths questions were tough. The pattern was similar to previous years’ question papers”.
Shubham and Karan also revealed that they gave NCHMCT JEE 2016, so that, they could secure admission in IHM Pusa.
Section-wise difficulty level of NCHMCT JEE 2016
Shiksha also spoke to students regarding the difficulty level of the different sections of NCHMCT JEE exam. The common finding was that the Numerical Ability questions were slightly difficult than those asked in previous years. However, English and Aptitude for Service Sector questions were simple.
Anmol Singh shared that, “In the Numerical Ability section only 20 questions were asked and the difficulty level was medium. The questions asked in English section were easy but in comparison to Aptitude for Service Sector section, they were more difficult”.
Along same lines, Prateek Malhotra said “Maths was time consuming, I took two and a half hours to complete it. The questions in Aptitude for Service Sector section were quite easy as compared to Maths. English was easy but time-consuming”.
“NCHMCT JEE exam is always simple. Maths was very easy, Service Sector was also very easy, I am not good at GK so that was average, English was also easy”, shared Animesh. He further revealed that, “In GK section, mostly questions related to hotels and the hospitality industry were asked”
Shagun Chawla very candidly states that, “If I had to rank the exam sections from easy to difficult I would say Service Sector section was the easiest then English, then GK and then Reasoning and Logical section questions. Maths was difficult for me”. Further, she states that, “I have seen and solved NCHMCT JEE 2014 and 2015 papers, the exam pattern was quite similar, this time too,s but some differences were there, like the standard of questions asked in the maths section was higher than past years”.
NCHMCT JEE 2016 Exam Analysis
Overall, the NCHMCT JEE 2016 exam was simple and so aspirants should expect the cut-off to go high. As per exam analysis of NCHMCT JEE, out of all the sections, the difficulty level of the ‘Numerical Ability and Analytical Aptitude’ section was the highest. On the other hand, the ‘Aptitude for Service Sector section’ was not only the easiest but also the most scoring.
