Across the country, there are many job opportunities available in travel and tourism. Recently, at an inaugural function Dr Rajashree Ajith, director of the Kerala Institute of Tourism and Travel Studies (KITTS) spoke of about two lakh job opportunities in the tourism & hospitality sector in Kerala. She was addressing a two-day education expo organized by the department of tourism and KITTS at Ernakulam Town Hall.

 

Reports by United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) proclaim that by 2030 South-East Asia will provide 535 million job opportunities. Kerala will also benefit from the positive growth trend. Industry-ready, skilled professionals are needed to meet the future demand of the travel and tourism industry. Emphasizing the need for professional education in the field, Dr Ajith added that by July KIITS will launch diploma courses in different fields including air cargo, logistics, retail management and spa therapies. The courses will also facilitate language skill development in German, French and Arabic. The institute proffers 100% placement assistance to students.

 

KIITS has joined hands with Bangalore-based interface organization iNurture and it will hold classes in Thiruvanathapuram, Kochi and Thalassery. (Read more)
