DU admission process; submit forms today!
June 5 to June 19 is the schedule for Delhi University admission process for its undergraduate courses - the first ever four year undergraduate programme (FYUP).
According to latest reports, the varsity has extended the time – till 4 pm – for submitting admission forms on the last day (June 19), due to weather conditions. Earlier, the forms were to be submitted till 1 pm. The online forms can be submitted up to 12.00 midnight.
Meanwhile, lack of infrastructure, logistics and under-staffing in colleges is forcing applicants to pre-decide the minor subjects (Discipline 2). The choice of Discipline 2 subjects will not affect admissions. However, deciding minor courses will allow colleges plan out the required infrastructure.
So far, about 1,59,271 OMR forms have been submitted manually and 95,926 forms submitted online.
As informed earlier, the new admission system will emphasise on the preffered course and not the college, as students are required to apply only to a course and not to different colleges. Their course preference and marks will be communicated to all colleges that offer the course and the colleges will then use the data to declare cutoffs.
While the full and final admission process schedule is expected to be out soon, the offline forms will be available between 9 am and 1 pm at various admission information centres. Moreover, the common pre-admission forms (OMR) will be available both online and offline at the following venues:

With the registration process undergoing a few changes this year, DU is making all efforts to make students aware of the same. These changes include:
- The university doing away with sale of forms at post offices
- Reduction in number of colleges where the forms will be available
- Change in the college choice section of the OMR forms
DU will have information kiosks for various courses and colleges set up on college campuses. Students may expect to find such kiosks at Metro stations and also get admission information through text messages.
Steps to follow for admission this year:
- Fill out a pre-admission form at the university level listing out the college and course preference, which has now been changed to listing out only course preference.
- The colleges then announce their cut-off lists based on demand
- However, unlike earlier years, the name of the student making the list will also be announced with the cut off list.
