Now a course in Manuscripts
If you’ve been pondering over the thought of studying Manuscripts, then head to BJ Institute of Research, as the institute is offering a six-month certificate course on understanding manuscripts, in collaboration with the Institute of Jainology.
There is a shortage of manuscript experts and original research in the area. Until now students from history or Indology were seen to be pursuing such courses. The initiative of launching this weekend course separately will cater to interested students and professionals from other disciplines as well who wish to understand about ancient scriptures.
Most of the participants in the course are postgraduate or doctoral students, interested in understanding manuscripts.
According to reports the course will give an opportunity to students to indulge in research work based on manuscripts written in Sanskrit, Pali, Prakrit, Arabic, Persian and other languages.
