NIRF Ranking Parameters with Weightage for Top Universities in India 2024
NIRF selects universities every year based on several parameters. Each parameter has a certain weightage and universities are evaluated out of a total score of 500. The NIRF ranking parameters along with their assigned weightage are listed below -

Teaching, Learning and Resources (TLR) - 100 Marks
- Student Strength including doctoral students (SS) - 20
- Faculty-student ratio with emphasis on permanent faculty (FSR) - 30
- Combined metric for faculty with PhD (or equivalent) and experience (FQE) - 20
- Total budget and its utilisation (CBTU) - 30

Research and Professional Practice (RP) - 100 Marks
- Combined metric for publications (PU) - 30
- Combined metric for quality of publications (QP) - 40
- IPR and patents: Filed, published, granted and licensed (IPR) - 15
- Footprint of projects and professional practice and executive development programmes (FPPP) - 15

Outreach and Inclusivity (OI) - 100 Marks
- Percentage of students from other states/ countries [Region Diversity (RD)] - 30

Q: Â Can I get BTech admission at Panjab University with JEE Main rank of 100000?
Panjab University cutoff for BE course is based on JEE Main scores. The counselling concluded after the relase of Round 5. Candidates looking forward to Panjab University admissions must have a valid score in JEE Main in order to be eligible for further process. Q: Â Can I get admission to BTech course at Jamia Millia Islamia [JMI] if my rank is between 15000 and 20000?
For last year, the closing rank for BTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering was 15851 which is very close to this range. This was for the General category under the All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one cannot afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however, the cut-offs keep changing year on year, it's advisable to try to score better ranks to increase your chances of admission.
Q: Â Can I get admission to BTech in Computer Engineering course at Jamia Millia Islamia [JMI]? My rank is between 5000 and 10000.
For last year, the closing rank for BTech in Computer Engineering was 7216 which is very close to this range. This was for the General category under the All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one cannot afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however, the cut-offs keep changing year after year, it's advisable to try to score better ranks to increase your chances of getting admission to the BTech in Computer Engineering course offered at the Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI).
