Eligibility:

• Students applying for undergraduate courses in any language should have passed 10+2 in any stream from a recognised examination board.
• For the postgraduate course in language, candidate should have a bachelor's degree in the same language from a recognized university.
• Candidates with 10+2 qualification are eligible to apply for certificate and diploma courses in languages.

Job Prospects and Remuneration:

On pursuing this field, candidates have many options apart from teaching, which used to be the only option earlier. Nowadays an array of opportunities are open for candidates such as translators, interpreters, editors, linguists, lexicographers, proof readers, transcriptionists, terminologist, sub-titler, tour operators and freelancers.

 

Language graduates are employed in publishing houses, translation bureaus, research organizations, banks, international organizations, hotel industry, travel and tourism industry, entertainment industry, public relations, mass communication, Business Process Outsourcing (B.P.O), diplomatic service and embassies.
The remuneration package offered for language graduates is Rs 10,000 to Rs. 20,000 per month. With experience the salary package will increase.
