It's a great experience to write what you believe. From my childhood days, all forms of logistics proved to be illogical. I never knew about the concept of left and right brain ever as I had known now. God knows! I looked with awe and amazement when I saw my friends and teachers solve mathematical problems; the ornamental chains of organic chemistry, the opponent for me - the inorganic chemistry, lab sessions with vibrant colors and what not. Out of everything, English kept me going. I liked the verbs and the adjectives. I liked Robert Frost and Wordsworth. I liked my English teacher, a tiny creature from whom a voice so majestic and vibrant came filling my classroom with grandeur and power. I dreamed of castles and cascades. They gave me happiness. I scored the least marks in my board exams, but was definitely proud of my English marks. My brother suggested me to choose Computer Science and so I went to Aptech. I drew flowcharts very neatly but there was no logical flow.

Then, I finally decided to take BA Literature and then MA Literature and was the happiest person on earth. Milton, Shakespeare, Robert Brown, Emily Dickinson, an array of flavors. I chose to work part-time and started teaching Communicative English. Then, I did 12 years of editing for various BPO Services. I learned language daily. I understood that English is the most powerful of all forms of deliverance and making a career out of it took me through various labyrinths of literature and language. I found myself powerful - whatever may be the thought, I am the medium.

How I made my career

Currently, I am working as a Faculty in Corporate and Industries Department, Amrita College of Engineering. I am here not because I acquired it but because I knew what my heart and soul went after. No matter what comes and goes, our profession gives us our identity. Let's identify with what we are and not with what we want to be. Choose carefully and clearly parallel with what you are. An apple is an apple, an orange is an orange. I can paint an apple like an orange, but a bite will clearly prove the truth!

Yes, I chose the right career for myself. I was clear at what I was pursuing. Except for the break to take care of my daughter, there were no drastic changes that kept me mute. I took up teaching as a career in schools. I understood there is clearly a sense of satisfaction and service. I have often felt that working in NASA can earn a name but teaching these toddlers to become part of NASA is some different, a great rendering.

I definitely got irritated and threw a lot of tantrums. It's like, when the going gets tough the tough gets going! Ultimately, the truth will reveal what you are tuned for and what your flesh is made of. Most people regret what they do, cause the platform they asked for is either denied or completely changed. All we need to do is modifications, slowly transforming ourselves to what we want to become.
